Things The Lower Classes Do

Recommended Posts

Play music in public on a mobile phone.

Be obnoxiously loud in public

Spend an obscene amount of money on clothing for which you pay a premium of about 20,000% for having a tiny logo on it and thinking it doesn’t make you lower class

Call a Vodka, Blackcurrant and Lemonade a ‘VBL’

Call Vodka ‘voddy’, Jack Daniels ‘JD’.

That’ll do for now.

However I had to laugh at the one about the lineal shopping centre. Ours is co-op, hills, bakers and boots the chemist. The flatroofed pub has the coral on top of it and the takeaway is across the car park from the Pub. Welcome to my hood.

My other half live in Donside Village which when she is annoying me I refer to as 'Lower Tillydrone'.

Or Danestone as Tillydrone North..that annoys quite a few of the residents

Sitting in their living room with the curtains open and the big light on in the evenings.

Speaking to people on the street from their (normally 1st floor) flat window.

Taps aff in the high street.

Shouting at the top of their voice to grab the attention of one of their acquaintances who happens to be 300m away in said high street.

No pub service any more, The Broadsword has passed from existence. Just the building converted to a Spar/Co-Op.

For a drink the dregs of Tilly have to wander out of the area Walking Dead style towards Gt Northern Rd or King St and probably the most mis-named pub in the world.

The Rowan Tree on KIng Street - looks more like a bunker, only missing the gun slits and anti-aircraft battery on the roof.

I think the Rowan Tree was previously called Martin's Bar and was rough when I lived in Aberdeen (1991-5). I once saw two coffin dodgers have a fight over a game of dominoes on a Tuesday afternoon in there.

Typing in an accent, for example;  "ah wis pyoor buzzin m8"

for examples of this, please see the Junior subsection of this forum.

“I voted No and am a likely member of the Conservative Party” type post.

Lived in Bristol 10 years, it was no voting as opposed to 'no' voting.

0/2, disappointing.
