From the SFA Website.....

Scotland will play the USA in an attractive international friendly match on Saturday 12 November, the Scottish FA has confirmed today.

The Morrisons International Challenge Match will have a 4 pm kick-off at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Scotland manager Walter Smith aims to maintain the momentum of the Scotland team and thinks the match against USA will appeal to the fans. He said: "I am looking forward to a tough and entertaining game at Hampden. They are very good opposition, and although they are from another continent they are more European in their style of playing."

USA recently qualified for the World Cup Finals for the fifth time in a row by topping a tough CONCACAF qualifying group, and also won the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the third time this summer.

Walter Smith added: "Their recent record is fantastic, and they were unlucky in the last World Cup not to reach the semi-finals. Having qualified again for Germany, it shows the pedigree in the team, who are seventh in the FIFA world rankings."

The match sees the Americans play only their second international in Scotland, the last time being in 1952. Scotland also played three internationals in America during the 1990s.

Ticket prices have been set at attractive levels, starting at just £12 for adult seats in the East and West Stands, with places in the North Stand at £15 and the South Stand for £15 and £20. Family tickets are great value at just £8 for an adult and £4 for children.

Members of the Scotland Supporters Club are being sent advance ticket application forms, while the public sale of tickets is set to begin on Friday, 4 November from the usual outlets including Morrisons stores, Hampden Park and the SECC.

The match will also be shown live on Sky Sports.

Well, Dumbarton are digging their heels in and keeping it at a 3pm kick off on the Saturday. And good for them.

The Scottish Fudball Association have known this was a club fixture weekend from the word go. To organise this fixture for the same day is not on. Why not the Wednesday night - it's an international date as well, with the play-off second legs?

Nope, this is one Tartan Army footsoldier who will not be making the trip to Hampden, and makes no apology for doing so.
