Free weekend

As we all know the fixture man does have a hard job in maintaining the fixture list.

However when two teams have a match this weekend and having played 15 and 13 matches each does a team with 9 matches played have a free weekend.  This puts any team in a disadvantage situation playing catch  up and probably going  onto playing 3 times a week just to catch up.

Wishaw are scheduled to have a free week on 10th March........ at which point they will have played only 8 or 9 league games (depending on the Scottish Cup / WOS Cup fixtures).

This leaves them facing 19 or 20 league games still to play!

The scheduled league fixtures for that day are as follows - if fixtures go to plan until then......... (each teams number of games played in brackets next to them)

Benburb (17) v Blantyre (11).    Wishaw still to play Benburb AWAY and Blantyre at HOME

Forth (9 or 10) v Shotts  (13).   Wishaw still to play both teams HOME and AWAY

Greenock  (15) v Glasgow Perthshire (15).  Wishaw still to play both teams HOME and AWAY).

Lesmahagow (12) v Rossvale (17).  Wishaw still to play both teams at HOME

Neilston (15) v Thorniewood (11).  Wishaw still to play Neilston HOME and AWAY, and Thorniewood at HOME

St Roch's (14) v EK Thistle (13).  Wishaw still to play both teams AWAY

Yoker (13) v Port Glasgow (15).  Wishaw still to play Yoker AWAY, and Port Glasgow HOME and AWAY.

I understand that the guy has a difficult job - but that situation is a nonsense.

Hopefully common sense will prevail and this will be rectified!?
