Peterhead v Berwick

Recommended Posts

Spoiler

We need to get back on track starting today, having played them a couple weeks ago know what to expect they are a big awkward team that have been improving, we cant gift them goals like we did down there when we went from being comfortable in the lead to hanging on before getting a late winner.

If the defence defend with no drag-backs etc then the Boy-Wonder will no doubt carry the Blue Toon to victory by holding up play as required and finishing like Salah.

In the real world of course nails will be bitten down to the quick and it will probably be decided by the Officials who of course everybody goes to watch really (In their minds that is !!!)

Title Challenge ? this result could put it back on track or finish it

Think yourself very fortunate that you did not have to suffer Mr Stevens display we seem to have had a run of joke officials but that was no laugh today. Again we made things hard for ourselves against a big awkward team that took no prisoners. First half fairly even with us on top in the 2nd, Berwick seemed happy to see it out for a draw with about 20 mins to go. Missing a few important players which did not help, not sure if todays card waving dwarf will have put anyone over the threshold for suspensions but down to 3 outfield subs again today.

For a team that wants to pump long balls forward it amazes me we don't seem to have anyone that can put in a corner.

Norris to start, underperforming favourites to be dropped.

Would not say we want to pump long balls forward think the problem quite often starts when some players seem to want to play short backwards passes putting players at the back under pressure when closed down to hump it, at times the ball could be held a bit longer & passed forward more constructively.

We don't have lots of options player wise just now but agree Norris has shown some good stuff when coming on. After todays ref we must have a few players edging towards suspension which could leave us very short if working out wrong.

It was a frustrating match with little to write home about in the first half. The substitutions lightened things up a bit but we could’ve done with them on earlier. The loanee Johnston is fitting in nicely. I was surprised to see him being substituted. Annan on a Tuesday night? Hmmmm.
