East Fife v Queens Park

Recommended Posts

Sat sees the third meeting of the season  with Queens continuing to be our bogey team having won both games. Can we finally get off their mantelpiece where we seem to have been for a long time !? After the morale boosting win over in form Stranraer can we build on it and make a push for the promotion play offs or will our season of being consistently inconsistent continue ? The influx of new players will certainly provide competition for the players with the jersey which can only be a good thing as the Manager will now have options at his disposal in all positions which he didn’t have before the January window. His big dilemma will be whether he can change a winning team even if injuries clear up and Docherty, Wilkie and Thomson are available again.

Hopefully the players will be ready to start the game at 3.00 this week and stop giving teams a goal of a start. The previous 3 home games has seen us start very slowly and in two of them lose goals in the first half. Queens have shown how good they are protecting a lead against us with Gus barking instructions to his players for the duration. This Sat we have to start quickly and put them on the back foot by being more attack minded now that we have the options to do so. A win would put us 15 points clear of the Spiders which would allow us to look up the way. A defeat would cut our lead to 9 points with a trip to Hampden still to come and we would continue to look over our shoulder.

Hopefully Chris Duggan will be fit and Rob Jones looked and handful last Sat when he came on. The two of them together should keep the Queens defenders busy and hopefully fire the goals to get us the 3 points. Mon the Fife !

Looking forward to this tomorrow, despite the disappointment of the last 3 games. After the poor second half performance at Arbroath, I wasn't really expecting any points against the top two. Games like this will decide if we're going to avoid bottom. Had some very decent results against the Fifers under Gus but three wins over them, in this season of all seasons, would be ridiculous. We desperately need some points on the board before we play Forfar in a few weeks.

Get all the new guys in from the start this week and let's hope Galt is on top form.

I think you'll find him even more animated tomorrow mate, as this will be his last game before the SFA confirm his appointment as the new Scotland boss

No excuses! We need to win this today and remove ourselves from Queens mantlepiece. After the big disappointment of the last 2 home games I suppose we can only get better. Hopefully our players will be fired up and ready to go and we don't lose an early goal or gift a free header from a set piece! Mon the Fife
