After taking piles of stick all night from the Cronulla fans, Val Holmes drops a goal from 45 to win it in Golden Point for the Cowboys

Just to rub salt in it wasn’t just a golden point, it was a golden two pointer. Great game with a few excellent tries. Also great that the Storm are out after losing at home to the Raiders.

I also noticed Paul Gallen is fighting two different guys on Thursday. Hopefully they both knock him out

Jellied Eels anyone? Not at Commbank Stadium tonight as they thrashed the Raiders 40-4 and into next week’s Preliminary Final in Townsville against the Cowboys.  The last time Parramatta were in the Preliminary Final was 2009.

  • 2 weeks later...

Nico Hynes of the Cronulla Sharks wins the Dally M, he’s also eligible for Scotland and would be some coup if we could get him for the World Cup. Hoping Campbell Graham is also in the squad but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the Aussie squad.

Scotland play their only warm up for the imminent Rugby League WC against England B at Myreside home of Watsonians in Edinburgh tomorrow (1:30pm).

Aside from 30-30 friendly v Jamaica at Featherstone last year, this is their first match since qualifying v Greece in London way back on 1st November 2019.

They last played at home the week before (v Serbia in Glasgow)... and last visited Edinburgh in 2012.

A bizarrely scathing article about Scottish Rugby League from an Aussie website.

They seem to suggest that we fluked a win over a far more deserving Serbia team to qualify. They don't mention it was an 86-0 win for Scotland. Serbia then lost their next qualifier 82-6 to Greece.
