So what was the outcome of Monday's supposed 'day of crisis talks' held at the branch office anyway? Have they gone for the batshit mental, Britnat loyalist stance cheerleaded by Jackie Baillie (let that image sink in), or have they dinghied this great intellectual of our age and gone for whatever London HQ has told them to think yet again?

Either way, they come out of this in an even more dilapidated state than before. The end is nigh.

...who are salvaging Scottish football's reputation tonight by the looks of things. Murdo Fraser was right about what pro-Union parties needed to do post-devolution. The mess Labour are in right now is what happens when a specifically Scottish agenda can't be pushed and the Westminster leader treats his Holyrood MSPs like a local council group.

Aye, but it's a hard one trying to explain why you need independence from the London based party to exploit your full potential and then in the next breath explaining why the wider country shouldn't.

If the Scottish Tories had been a separate party after the last general election, they would have had all kinds of leverage when dealing with Theresa May in a similar manner to the DUP. Obtaining a good deal for the Scottish electorate out of that rather than behaving like a doormat would have strengthened the Union and taken some of the wind out of the SNP's sails. As things stand Tam Dayell's motorway with no exits analogy is difficult to argue against. Corbyn is doing what he's doing because he might need the SNP, who have leverage in negotiations, but in contrast can count on SLab MPs to do what he wants them to. The dynamic would be very different if Corbyn couldn't count on Slab to slavishly follow whatever the Westminster leader dictates.

Lurker.... Lurker.... Lurker....

It's not in the interests of Scottish Tories to deliver a good deal for Scotland. Particularly with an SNP Government at the helm. They're all for "unity" and "British equalibrium". Which means dragging Scotlands standards down to that of England.
