What's the most "Tin Pot" thing you've seen in the SPFL

Recommended Posts

St Johnstone refusing to extend players contracts because they "dont know what league theyll be in next season", despite being closer to 5th than 11th in terms of points.

Tinpot in terms of the mindset of the club.

What's more tinpot I think is that our supporters don't question it. Just go along with it.

I think they have but think Celtic are probably wanting heads to roll tbh with an investigation. It clearly wasn't an accidental mistranslation.

You're right, they have apologised. The normal reaction, you would hope after the apology has been made would be to carry on as normal, at least until after the Ofcom investigation has concluded. But Celtic go for the heavy handed approach to look tough for the majority of their fanbase.

This has no doubt been said before but for f**k sake it's pathetic

Rangers: "We refuse to work with the BBC"

Celtic: "We refuse to work with sky"

Banning journalists for speaking out or criticising them.

Absolute tinpot pathetic b*****ds. Folk outside Scotland must see it and cringe. No wonder we can't get a decent TV deal when the only team's those TV channels are interested in showing are fucking banned by those clubs.

Folk say Hamilton's crowds are tinpot, nah being so far up your own arse that you're convinced every jurno or tv organisation is out to get you is next level.

Depends whether the criticism is true or not. Has this been categorically decided yet ?

Rangers are refusing to work with the BBC because one of their reporters had the gall to accurately report the misbehaviour of their fans. Celtic are refusing to work with Sky because they were absolutely slated in a translation of an interview which turned out to entirely misleading. There is a massive difference.

As for folk outside Scotland seeing it and cringeing, Alex Ferguson refused to speak to the BBC for 7 years when he was Man United manager. This stuff is not new, nor is it restricted to Scotland.

Sir Fergie took it down south !?

Pretty sure its a maximum of about 6 home games per team is it not? Once you have the derbies, flag day  and trophy day and a random other game its pretty even.

Excluding derbies, how many home OF games have been televised in the league this season?

I notice that the Caramel Wafer Cup semi between Partick and Raith is live on BBC Alba at 7:45 on Friday night with Alloa v Dundee United taking place at 7.05pm (I'm assuming live on the BBC Scotland channel?)

Would it not have made more sense to shift one of the games (probably the Cup semi) to the Saturday lunchtime slot as there's no live Premiership game on at that time?

Interests of fairness? If the Tv money is split evenly then so should the ground coverage. I get what you are saying at but then more money would most likely go to us if tv cameras are there all the time.

Interest of fairness? Showing every single away old firm game that doesn't clash with Champions League is fair?

If I remember correctly he was criticised for his decision and the club were also fined for each post match interview he didn't give.
