What?  We are getting him on loan

Indeed, but you're not loaning him. The bank lends (or loans) you money to buy a car, you borrow it.

Basic English, but unfortunately that's not a language spoken by football journalists.

No problem mate.  Right now probably isn't the best time for me to discuss such matters.

Last night a transfer fee was verbally agreed for the striker with personal terms also being formally submitted. Swindon Town lined up suitable replacements and activated contingency plans ready for the departure.

The striker travelled to Edinburgh where his move has been prepared, including photographs, interviews, and a medical. Whilst this was happening Hibernian contacted Swindon Town to renegotiate on the fee that was previously agreed and started to offer lower figures and change the structure of the deal.

Hibernian FC folks

Moving Aberdeen-Hibs to a Friday night due to advice from Police Scotland surrounding match logistics.

Is there some major event on in the north-east that afternoon?

Please tell me the police haven't seriously barred Aberdeen from playing at home the same day as Bonfire Night?

The "police advice" sounds like code for "Dave Cormack wants to try this and we've agreed but want some plausible deniability.

Has Cormack not been pushing for different kick off times for a while? Pretty sure a game between Aberdeen and Dundee got moved to later in the evening last season.
