I wonder what the Aussies will think once they hear the songbooks being opened.

Agreed. Outside of Sydney, the Aussies are essentially the same tribe as the Hillbillies in the USA, the Afrikaaners in South Africa and the Brexiteers in good old Blighty.

Unfortunately, this is largely true.

Lived there for a few years and binned it off in the end for this reason. Many great things about Australia, sadly pretty much all of them are nothing to do with the people.

In any case, most Australians will be like most foreigners in general and have absolutely no idea what the Old Firm fans are singing about. They'll just see flags and colour and hear noise. They'll probably think it's great.

These two could play each other on the moon and there would still be trouble.

Another great advert for Scottish football……

Most Aussies won't know its on. 75% of the crowd will be Scottish ex-pats, the rest a mix of football nuts and freeloaders on corporate packages.

I found a thread on a Non-league forum for English football and thought there must be some cracking tin pot suggestions for Scottish football.

So,  What's the most tin pot thing you have seen in Scottish football?

I'll get the ball rolling with the Toni Macaroni arena! Cringe-tastic

Quote there is the opening post of this thread. Emirates and Etihad stadiums in England, named after the Dubai and Abu Dhabi state airlines. f**k that. I'd rather have the funny name of a Scottish restaurant chain. It's mental that folk think Tony Macaroni sponsorship is cringe yet are impressed by English clubs whoring themselves for UAE, currently bombing the life out of Yemen alongside Saudi. Spaghettihad > Etihad.

Greeny for calling out the Yemen shambles.

Aye well that was what I was trying to get at. That sinister Premier League shite is afforded validity by default because folk are wowed by wealth and power. (Of course "Toni Macaroni Arena" is daft/diddy/tin pot and funny, I'm not arguing against that!).

As a restaurant brand "Tony Macaroni" is supposed to sound like a bit of a joke. It was deliberately chosen to  sound like that

It seems to be saying "You can relax, we don't take ourselves too seriously here".

Supporters of Livingston FC will be able to comment on how well that ethos carries over to their match day.

I always thought it was saying ‘aye it’s technically Italian food, it’s a bit shit but it’s cheap’

"It's not real Italian food though, it's a version of it they wouldn't pish on if it was on fire, but plebs like you would sook it through a sweaty sock your sense of taste is so underdeveloped."

I doubt they could get it all in though.

Maybe in the mission statement

I'd hope so. That's how I feel, anyway. Incidentally, I've wondered if that lack of opprobrium from fans factored into Omeonga choosing the club.

Aye, as an "overspill" town, Livingston doesn't have the financial and cultural wealth of some places. Fittingly, the first Tony Macaroni was opened in East Kilbride.

Much better than Olive Garden trying to present itself as good Italian food and telling its trainees it actually sends chefs to Italy.

I thought the way it was branded was to attract young families with children.

Does this slogan rotate round the electronic advertising boards on matchdays?
