Tin pot things in English football:

Having to stop the televised live FA Cup tie between Cheltenham and Man City because neds have let off fireworks at the back of the ground

Bringing it back to Scotland, couldn't help but notice the contrast between the end of match analysis.

Lineker, Shearer and Richards making sure they praised Cheltenham as much as they could for making a good game of it. You just know if that was the Old Firm the whole story would have been about how wasteful Celtic or Rangers were.

It would be just the same.

They did that last night with Man City and it would be the same here with patronising references to "plucky part timers, plumbers and teachers" etc.

Pundits speak in cliches whichever programme or competition you watch.

“We don’t want to encourage fans to come to the stadium because of covid restrictions, of course. But that was a really, really important message they gave to the players this morning.

“When the lads were driving into the car park, you couldn’t drive by a lamppost without seeing a black and white flag.

“The message to the lads is this is a chance to become legends. Some of the younger lads, it’s about making them realise that these opportunities don’t come along every year.

Actual result of this exercise: pumped without a struggle and an extra tenner in Poundland's till.

At least this time he does not need to order any seats for Hearts fans to sit in.

A man of many clubs and it never ends well at any of them.
