Great quiz.

Here goes:

1- Hampden, 2- Firhill, 3- Shielfield,

4- Easter Road, 5- Tynecastle? (guess),

6- East End, 7- Tannadice, 8- Love Street? (guess),

9- Celtic Park, 10- Fir Park, 11- Pittodrie, 12- Ibrox.

I'd have guessed that 2 was Dens Park, but I guess I'm wrong.

I'd never have got Shielfield or Love St.

Quite sure of eleven of them.

1. Hampden
2. Firhill
3. Shielfield
4. Easter Road
5. Rugby Pk?
6. East End
7. Tannadice
8. Tynecastle
9. Celtic Pk
10. Fir Pk
11. Pittodrie
12. Ibrox

Don't believe 5 is Rugby Park - our ground was oval shaped originally. I actually haven't a clue where it is.

I wondered whether 8 was Firhill, but then saw number 2 was Firhill.

I'm now wondering if it is Dens, around 1921 when the Archibald Leitch Stand was under construction.

HJ is being a bit naughty. It's not the construction of (New) Shielfield in the 1940s (the stand came from Valley Parade, Bradford) but rather the time the roof was removed for safety reasons c1990

Berwick played "home" games at Meadowbank and Tynecastle while the ground was shut

It never occurred to me how gas holders worked. I hadn't noticed the level went up and down, I thought they were just big storage tanks.

My uncle says he used to sit in Glebelands Primary in Dundee watching the Stannergate gas holders going up and down.

If you met him you would belive him.

It's just a pool of water that the dome sits in, that's all that holds the gas in.

Sounds a bit like my attitude to school.

I think this is adjacent to Ibrox prior to an Old Firm game in the late 1950's ?

Those of us who grew up in Dumbarton East back in the day enjoyed having the gasworks right next to the sewage works - my olfactory senses remain somewhat sub-optimal to this day.

Berwick played their home game against Dumbarton at Coatbridge during that period. I guess they couldn’t find anywhere closer

Without looking at anyone else’s attempts.

1 Hampden

2 St Mirren

3. Motherwell

4 Hibs

5 Hearts

6 Dunfermline

7 Dundee United

8 Dundee (no idea)

9 Celtic

10 Motherwell (again, oops)

11 Pittodrie

12 Ibrox

For someone that has been to the vast majority of Scottish league grounds that was really difficult. When do we get the answers? (Unless you’ve already put them up @HibeeJibee)

Slightly later era, but another two players called Arthur come to mind - Grant and Graham.

Don’t know Arthur Thompson’s position but all the other four (Duncan, Hamill, Grant and Graham) were left wingers.

I've worked with Arthur Grant - good guy, plenty of good stories about his playing days too.
