Scotland B - and what looks like their dentist - lineup before our first ever B international, against France Espoirs ("the Hopes") on Remembrance Day 1952.

Tommy Ledgerwood Scotland B Team Taken sometime in Toulouse, on 11 November, 1952. Tommy Ledgerwood - Coldstream History Society

It finished 0-0 in Toulouse before 19,649 or 25,000 (reports vary).

Tommy Docherty noticeable back left; Willie Ormond front right.

Think you are right about the dentist: that's a young Jason Leitch in the white coat.

Doug Cowie of Dundee behind Docherty. Would go on to play in the 54 and 58 World Cup finals

What a cruel twist of fate, that a band so associated with hair should go bald.

Boris Johnson must be shitting himself (I know he probably is anyway, but you know what I mean).

To be fair the hair in Flock of Seagulls owed a lot to lacquer and combing technique. Drew Jarvis is the football equvalent.

George McLean there, taking it to a whole other level again.

He looks like the first no-good, loudmouth bad guy to be shot by Clint Eastwood in Spaghetti Western.

His was the record transfer between Scottish clubs when Saints sold him to Rangers (1872).

That was the old record transfer. He went For A Few Dollars More.

Outstanding 👏

Memo to self: Thread idea. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly at your club. Pretty easy for fans of Dundee Utd who remember the 1980s I suppose.

Good: Bobby Graham

Bad: how long you got, buddy?

Ugly: like a doting mother, all Accies players are lovely to me. Until they join St Mirren for an extra £30 a week 😆

Are you referring to our cup-winning captain and current manager?

The only other contenders would be Mark Corcoran or Dougie Imrie.

Oh wait, Brian Martin was also signed from Accies.

I was more hurt by getting dumped by doe-eyed French heartthrob Tony Andreu 22.

I knew he wouldn't like it in Paisley, but my tears and pleading were for naught 💔

I thought we signed him from DU!

I have to say he was no great shakes for us.

As his wiki page shows, he gets around a bit. Always seems to be sold on until finally he is an overlooked poor performer, rarely given an outing.

Like a 1970s 2CV, I used to know.

Since no one else has, BALDY BALDY, BALDY BALDY.

That always showed him.

Presumably a screening of a film of the game long after the event?

Probably as that was in the ‘good old days’ when the pubs shut at 2.30 and re-opened at 5pm. But at least they were open.
The other option of course is an afternoon ‘lock in’. Edit....failed the observation test....just noticed the projector.
