Is that Dave McNicoll 3rd from right back, row?

Back row L-R Scott, Mackie, Leishman, Arrol, Shaw, McNicoll, Wallace, Mercer

Front row L-R: Mitchell [I think], Thomson, Hughes, Kinninmonth, Nelson, Gillespie, Brown

Was McNicoll from Dundee? Cracking player. Once touted for Liverpool. Fecked his knee against East Fife I think.

John Arrol and Alex Kinninmonth ex-Dundee.

Top man McNicoll before his injury. Leishman too before he broke his leg. Ken Mackie was a goal machine and turned down Rangers. Then seemed to lose his way. Kinninmonth was excellent for Pars, as was Arrol. Thomson was officially the fastest player in Scotland. Wallace an under-23 cap. It all turmed to shit.

Was McNicoll not Pars captain at age 19 or a very young age?   His brothers were all good players too. Sure they were in the Carnoustie Panmure team that got to the Scottish Junior Cup semi final

Yes, that's true, which is why the seating configuration is completely different from what it was at old Douglas Park.  It's like getting a giant lego set with no instructions, so you make it up as best as you can, but it never looks quite right [emoji846]

I was only ever at Douglas Park twice (both games in season 91/92) and I genuinely have no recollection of the stand extension.

Was that around the promotion season in 1989? Can perhaps remember 4 that season, Trevor, Bobby, Mark and Paul.

The Pars struggled over the line to pip Falkirk.

Yes, maybe only 4. Perhaps I was thinking of Andy Smith who played later on.

Paul and Andy Smith were at the club at the same time for half a season, but if they played together it was only 1 or 2 games. Andy Smith signed in 1995 but broke his leg in a preseason friendly against Bolton and was out until the end of the year. Paul Smith left in late 95. Andy Smith left in 2000.

Paul Smith is now assistant manager at Raith. No idea what Andy Smith is up to these days.

With his lugs Andy Smith is avoiding strong winds in case he's blown away.

He scored 5 against Edinburgh City in a 7-2 for the Pars in the 1997 Scottish Cup, the rotter. Ian Westwater's strip is still on display in the City Social Club.

We've all seen Celtic's much-criticised team photo showing their treble trophies... of which 1 is actually the Scottish Cup of 2 seasons ago.

Here is converse blast-from-the-past:

Hibernian-F.C.-1902-03-League-Champions.

This shows Hibs league championship winning team of 1902-03. They are pictured with the Glasgow Charity Cup and the Scottish Cup... which they won in 1901-02. How could this be?!

Following the success of the 'Glasgow International Exhibition Cup' of August 1901... when Rangers, Celtic, Queen's Park and Third Lanark had been joined by Hearts, Hibs, Morton and St Mirren... come May it was decided to invite them into the Glasgow Charity Cup as a one-off. Hibs promptly won, earning them an invite the next season when St Mirren also got a nod.

Also the national league generally occupied only the first half of the season... with supplementary leagues plus the Scottish Cup occupying the second half. Hibs won the league before starting their defence of either cup.

To be precise:
* Scottish League (22 games) started August and ended January
* Inter City League (8 games) started January and ended May
* Eastern League (10 games) started August and ended May
* Scottish Cup ran January to April
* Hibs also contested East of Scotland Shield, Edinburgh (Rosebery) Charity Cup and Glasgow Charity Cup
