Derek “cup-tie” MacKay scoring the winner?

ETA, clearly not now I look at the picture, clearly a blocked shot emoji2359.png

My memory may be playing tricks with me, but I was in the stand enclosure that day and I’m sure that the goal was in the other end.

I remember watching them in winter around that time (72), wearing tracksuit bottoms under their shorts. Jim Leishman was playing, but I don't see him in that team photo.

1972 Dunfermline at Ochilview.jpg

The goalkeeper is John Arrol in both photographs.

That's Alan Hughes for Stenny in that photo. He was a decent winger who moved to St Mirren in '73 and made his debut v Stenny. Bad attitude was his downfall , Fergie came in a gave him his chance , but he didn't take it !

I recall Alan Hughes, a red headed winger, quite stylish player who I think came from the Clydebank area.

Emigrated to Australia.

I was in the same part of the ground that day and the goal was scored at the other end.

Montrose in 1936, a couple of years before they changed colours from black and white to blue and white.

That's the hardest looking goalie I've ever seen. He looks like an Arbroath player had just spilled his pint...

I thought it was a time-travelling Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Looks like he's playing an equally time-travelling Terry Griffiths, going even slower than usual. Perhaps due to the understandable impact of interfering with the space/time continuum.

You’re not the Killie fan that tried to hit me when I ran on to the pitch at the final whistle are you?

Last I heard he was a community coach with the SFA in North Lanarkshire.

Yeah, he is. I’ve seen him a few times when I’ve been playing 7s up at Ravenscraig doing his coaching with young kids.

He was a cracking player.
