I think East Fife fans' "Cowden family" song achieved the same feat.

I'd better think of an insulting song for Queens Park and South Glasgow to see if I can get Edinburgh City on the telly...

They're from the Southside of the city

They're run by a committee

Since the Boer War they been shitty

The Queens Park family

Deedle ee dee etc.

What's the story here?

A late Eric Morris goal gave Ayr victory over Celtic at Parkhead in the quarter final. Apparently it was the first time Celtic hadn't competed in the final (citation needed). Whether this caused the sponsor to pull the competition is unknown, but, that was the last year it was held.

As a footnote, I would only have been 7yo at the time, I have no recollection of this victory! I can remember Peru in 78, but not us beating one of the Glaagow two!

And hardly anybody turned up for the final

Thé 4 highest scorers from the top flight and 4 highest scorers from the second tier format would see Morton and Dunfermline in this season’s tournament

2 future Accies lads in the photo. Funnily enough the international appearances dried up after they signed for The Real Hoops.😆

It's John Lindsay. Eddie Conville is back row, right on the end. A few years later he got done for urinating on a woman, but he's not yet become US President.

Conville and Lindsay are in the front row here, either end, in this 1990 BP Youth Cup winning side, along with quite a few lads who went on to have very good careers. The other three under 16 representatives (Bollan, McLaren and McMillan) are also in the photo.

Is that big dunc at the back??

Harry Hood and Vic Davidson are at the centre of a penalty box 'stramash' as Arthur Montford would say as Celtic draw 3-3 with Airdrie in the 1971 Scottish Cup semi final.

Celtic won the replay a few days later.
