Looks like Doddsy is disagreeing with the verdict, but this was one of the few occasions where Dougal got his decision spot on.

Vaguely remember this at the time, pretty sure he put his right foot through the perspex dugout and he had to be manhandled off the pitch, seem to recall Roy Aitken got the bullet from Aberdeen immediately after this match too.
Dundee Hibernian
Big crowd watching as East Stirlingshire pose before a match at Firs Park, start of 1963-4 season. That was one of two seasons the 'Shire have spent in the top division. They only won five games all season, and were relegated back to the second division with 12 points.

It was a Sunday televised game. Can't recall Windass being anywhere near the dugouts, as the tunnel is well away from them. He was sent off relatively early though, by which point Aberdeen were well behind in the match.

Weird. I was at this, and have no recollection of Deano getting sent off.

I think he was sacked by Aberdeen in November 1997 after a 5–0 loss to Dundee United - I think Windass may have been sent off in that game.
Flybhoy
Speaking of Roy Aitken, here he is celebrating scoring a penalty at Pittodrie in 1985 with Peter Grant, while Paul McStay is on the deck having been pelted with a ten bob bit, unfortunately the coin didn't hit the other Celtic player in the picture, horrible fucking rat. -

Roy went to the same school as me, was a good basketball player back in his youth too!

Flybhoy
Clive Allen of Arsenal in action against Alex McLeish in a friendly v Aberdeen at Pittodrie in 1981, interesting trivia fact, Allen never played a competitive game for Arsenal, this and a friendly only a few days previously against Rangers at Ibrox were his only appearances for the Highbury side, he signed that summer from QPR and weeks later was sold to Crystal Palace for a rumoured £1million pound profit, story being that QPR refused to do business with Palace due to some bust up and Arsenal pulled a real sneaky move and made a cool profit for next to nothing. Doubt you would get away with a stunt like that in todays ultra scrutinised climate.

I think they virtually broke even, with both moves being for around that figure. Allen played for an extraordinary number of London clubs.
