And some of the home stand behind the other goal as that us where I ended up!

Aye, family stand was mixed.

I was in the usual away stand that Burns lobbed the ball over the bar into.

Following season we played there in the league at Easter on a midweek night. We had an even bigger support IIRC. Gus scored a screamer from about 30 yards in first 60 secs and we won 1-0!

Thanks very much for posting this. I've quoted you in the League One Sons Sorrow thread where it might pick up some traction. I was at this game sitting in the stand. I was only allowed to go to away games on my own in the early '70s on condition that I always avoided the terracing!

I was in the stand for that one too

We're the same, I've sat in the same seat for all but one season (when I sat in Moffat after it opened) for almost 25 years. Before then it was where I stood in East Stand.

I’m the same, I sit where I can see up the tunnel where the players come out. I used to stand on the east terrace at the same point.

I've only been to Muirton once, and I think it was for a midweek game when the Pars were in Division 1 (early 90s maybe?). We must have a small section of the stand as my dad and I sat there (and in any wing of a main stand at away games as he had a dodgy back) but I distinctly remember being sent down the stairs into the enclosure or terracing for the half time tea and pie - only to bite into it and discover it was steak and kidney. Horrible. That sound likely to any Saints fans from that era?

Not in the early 90's as it got demolished in '89!

Roy Aitken, Davie Hay and Brian McClair with the 1986 League trophy,  Celtic were presented with it on a Monday afternoon at a deserted Celtic Park after their unexpected last day triumph on the Saturday, before the days of helicopters taking trophies around the country on the final day it was at Dens Park where Hearts were expected to get the draw they needed against Dundee to win the title.....cue a timely intervention from a wee curly headed Bobby Ball lookalike 8)

I was 10 when we moved to McDiarmid, so don't remember if they had steak and kidney, but it sounds pretty unlikely. I do remember my dad complained about the pies once we moved stadiums, as he reckoned the ones at Muirton were from Murrays bakers (Perth's finest), but they got a new supplier at McDiarmid, and they were a bit shit. Anyway, in those days we had great crowds, but shit pies, now we have shit crowds but everyone loves the pies. We'll get the balance right one day.
