Celtic take on St Mirren at Ibrox on a Friday night in 1979. 2-0 to the Celts it finished.

Reason for the unusual timing and venue is Love Street was undergoing redevelopment at the time so Saints moved the game to accommodate the crowd and the following day was the Scottish Cup final between Rangers and Hibs,  the one that went to about 296 replays,  police didnt want two large crowds withing a couple of miles on the same day, Ibrox was also about to go under a major rebuild that summer and this was the last time the east terrace was used as what is now the Broomloan stand began construction that summer, I may be wrong but im sure the Copland was constructed the same time with the Govan being built a year later.

The following midweek  was the famous 'ten men won the league' game when Celtic clinched the title with a 4-2 win v Rangers after Johnny Doyle was sent off for booting Alex McDonald up the arse.

13th May 1995 - Morton parade the new 2nd division trophy after a 1-0 win over relegated Meadowbank Thistle.

This was the last game Meadowbank played with that name, starting the next season as Livingston. In the WDE, police try to control the protesting away fans, whose club directors later came out to speak to them.

McNeill and Gemmell entering the pitch of the Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Perón stadium before the second leg of the Intercontinental Cup.  Not sure if it's Simpson before his head injury or if it's Fallon behind Big Billy.

The story actually was that midfielder Stuart Wilson, who was leaving the club, gave his shirt to a fan. Fat cnut director and ex shite Referee Jim Renton tried to get two coppers to arrest the fan, the shirt having been passed back to another fan who had swiftly legged it out of Cappielow.  GIRFUY Board.

I am eternally grateful to the Morton fans who sang "Meadowbank, Meadowbank" that day. You then got to find out what a horrible person Blobby was when he teamed up with Hugh Scott and started banning fans from Cappielow for protesting a few years later.

Anyone interested in old Panini Stickers / Football Cards of Scottish players should have a look at my go to Bankies site run by top bloke Steve McAnenany who still produces our match day programme. Site also has a full list by club of our fixtures against other Scottish sides during our Senior Days - heartily recommend having a look!!
