Scored a few vital penalty kicks, excellent record from the spot. Ended up at Charlton did he not?

No, David "Cunt" Hay signed him for St. Mirren from Charlton.

He stole a wage for about half a season before retiring.

No one could tell the difference.

Mark Reid is my aunts brother.
One of many decent players to come from Saltcoats!
Bobby Lennox, Roy Aitken, Mark Reid, Ray Montgomerie to name but 4!
Taught me to drive, good guy.

John Collins in action in a friendly v Sheffield Wednesday in 1993, a 1-1 draw in the first match played in front of a seated jungle.

The legendary Chris Waddle and, I think Chris Bart-Williams are the Wednesday players also pictured.

Interesting that they didn’t wear shin guards yet I thought they were standard by the 60s (or at least recommended) - love the picture!

I think it was late 80's/ early 90's when they became compulsory. I'm pretty sure the majority of  players didn't wear them before that.

Jeez. Hamish must have looked 50 all of his playing career.

Is bottom right Ally Dick?

I think we can safely say that Hamish was an overage player.  I assume I'm being whooshed.

How many overage players were allowed?

Had a look on Wikipedia. McAlpine was born in 1948, a few of the rest (Gough, Simpson, Malpas) are around 1961/62. Overage goalkeepers allowed?

Is second from the right in the front row, Ian Wilson?

Not whooshed. Just a little tongue in cheek observation.:)

I don't think Ian Wilson ever had so much hair. The guy's face is familiar but I just can't think of the name.
