HibeeJibee
December is upon us and as usual the EOS League takes a 2-weekend festive break. Occasionally clubs agree to play a competitive game but it's pretty rare: hasn't happened for quite a number of seasons, IIRC. However there usually proves to be a good variety of action anyway with friendlies being organised and sometimes even mini-tournaments. In the spirit of Preseasonwatch please post up any details, e.g. Tynecastle's twitter says they're intending to play on Thursday 28th December (opponents unconfirmed). Kelty Hearts have organised a 4-team 'Festive Tournament' the last couple of years and Bo'ness United and Dundonald Bluebell had been suggested for this edition. However I was on the Bo'ness website and noticed they've a news article up which says: Kelty Hearts Festive Tournament - we will not be playing any fixtures 23 & 30 December as per instructions from East Junior Management Committee. No permit will be allocated. According to threads in the Junior sub-forum clubs in both the East and West Juniors are not being allowed to play friendlies during the break this season - or at least on the weekends (it's not very clear) - which would obviously preclude their participation. LL plays right through. Any indication if it'll go ahead midweek - e.g. public holidays - or perhaps with EOSL SOSL and/or amateur clubs?
kleptomaniac
The Juniors can’t play on the 23rd or the 30th but can play friendliest any other days.......bonkers

HibeeJibee
Tynecastle also visit Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Thursday 28th December and Easthouses Lily on Wednesday 3rd January, presumably both are evenings under devils candles. Preston host Civil Service Strollers tomorrow night.

HibeeJibee
7-0 down? at HT? ... was it Tynecastle's subs, coaches and committee with E-cigarettes and smoke machines? Eyemouth go looking for a friendly a week on Saturday.
HibeeJibee
Burntisland beat Kirkcaldy YM on Tuesday while CSS won 4-0 at Preston. With holidays falling midweek, LL playing through and Juniors banning Sat friendlies looks like fewer ties than usual.

Anyone know if HoB v Tynecastle went ahead? With most clubs having not played for a couple of weeks before the break, and few friendlies during it, there may be a lot of rust to shake-off in the derbies a week on Saturday! Actually forgot about that game, I had intended going to BSC tonight. Heavy snow in Cowden I would imagine its worse up in Kelty
HibeeJibee
Kelty make alternative preparations ahead of next Saturday's Fife derby arranging to host Kirkintilloch Rob Roy on bank holiday Tuesday at 1:30pm. Tynecastle of course visit Easthouses the following evening.
