Maybe Peebles Rovers sets a precedent for existing members to be given leeway on that.

University of Stirling and there Gannochy complex was a fair trek as well. Haven't been for years but if its still the same then that certainly supersedes Peebles precedent. 

To a lesser extent Heriot Watt and the John Brydson arena have zero catering facilities with changing rooms that are away from the pitch as well.

I've only been to Gannochy to watch the women's team, but as far as I know they play on the same pitch as the EOS side and that means it's still the same as you say.

The mastertons will do absolutely nothing that doesn’t involve them personally making cash regardless of how legitimate that cash is.

this project seems entirely reliant on them as well, that creates massive risk.

Just needs the cage to be set back down one side, so that any pre-built terrace and seating can be dropped in - not literally. Have been to many cages,but some look like actual grounds. Hopefully the club gets a good lease, can make £ on matchday etc. Who will actually own it ?

Ultimately pitrevie is owned by fife council,  however after a number of dodgy schemes Gavin masterton(rat) worked a long term lease into his private pension fund. His equally dodgy daughter looks to be running it now.   Some of the last people in the world I’d want to be trying to get a good deal out of.

There looks to be little space for spectators in the initial plans for Pitreavie.  There is room however for future expansion to the south side of the pitch.

The "cage" dimensions are 104m x 67m.  The pitch is meant to be 98m x 59m with a 3m run off perimeter all round.  That leaves just 2m along one side of the pitch for spectators with a 1.2m railing separating them from the pitch.

I hope that they keep a supply of spare balls handing as the fences behind the goals are only 4m high, and 3m at the sides.

Was in the area yesterday so took a look at Pitreavie.

What struck me is the location of the new pitch, that can't meet EoS criteria given the distance from the building, also looking at the plans there appears to be no provision for facilities to be added closer eg. modular buildings.   Using the existing 3g would make more sense being closer to the existing building.  Also, whichever pitch it is, it's not any better than what they have now which already isn't EoS compliant.

Hopefully there's additional facilities to be provided, they'll also need more car parking space.

Someone mentioned on another thread yesterday Peebles have been told to move. 

In that case Uni of Stirling EOS are in bother too so it's not just Rosyth. 

On another note I also think clubs changing there home venue just to get games played isn't right either.

It’s a solution to get Lidl and new high school built, it’s not aimed at providing a good football venue.

Yep, let's them get spades in the ground then in 6 months time or whatever there will be some unspecified issue that can't be resolved. Access, drainage, height of the floodlights, it doesn't matter, it'll be a nonsense excuse.

There is always a danger if quantity is put before quality of an application.

The growth within the EoS has been remarkable.  However recent posts also highlight not every club is fully compliant and allowances were made.

The ground requirements were also amended and tightened after many clubs left the Juniors to move to the EoS.

Inverkeithing/Ballast Bank would get nowhere near the EoS now, Stirling Uni Reserves can't meet requirements either at Gannochy.  3g cages are also unwelcome as Letham found out, Leith moved out of theirs and back to Meadowbank.   Again, not sure how Rosyth can move to Pitreavie and meet requirements unless there's further plans.

On the whole, grounds are improving every season.

Groundshares though remain a concern, what are Edinburgh South's plans for a home of their own for example?

Only entries from amateur/youth in last 5 years have been Inverkeithing, Edinburgh South + Edinburgh College. Swifts have moved to a better facility, the others share, with South having made progress by moving into the city.

Agree totally, I'm not a fan of ground shares - fixtures should predominantly be played Saturday at 2.30 pm and teams should be able to provide such an assurance.

I was at the swifts v Broxburn game the other week at Dalgety Bay and while some things were ok, the setup is not EOS compliant surely? I could have stood on the hill and watched the game and don’t ask me where the toilets were at the ground . Player safety has to be considered as I didn’t see a clear walkway between changing rooms and pitch. Have also heard this contributed to an ugly scene earlier in the season,  where players of both teams were throwing punches at each other right next to supporters (wasn’t there so please don’t shoot the messenger if wrong)

if we are going to have a go at Edinburgh based teams, maybe should have your own house in order……
