Well looks like Thornton Hibs are getting help from their sponsors for the fence, (which if they didn't go ahead with they wouldn't be allowed to continue in the league?) Floodlights would be covered with the likes of grants etc.

is their fence up yet?

Remarkable work by the guys at Camelon Juniors during lockdown. Floodlights, pitch drainage, terracing repairs, changing rooms upgrade, seated stand... the list goes on.

Had to contend with arson attack as well.

The club have posted a video of the lockdown works. Worth a look.

Amazing effort from all of the guys and volunteers at the club. Deserve great credit

Looks 2 metres to me.

Checked the planning docs, supposed to be 1.8m. Maybe there's not many tall folk in Thornton.

Haddington's ground looking great under the lights, again showing that smaller clubs can get licensed.

Not EoS but good to see. Hopefully will be relevant to the EoS in future;

Presumably includes floodlights. It would also be daft if they didn't try to get any other work required to meet licensing criteria done at the same time.

The Whitestone Park pitch used to and maybe still does double as a cricket pitch so a fence might be a problem for Peebles.

Plus the site floods if the Tweed rises although they could put in a similar fence to Edinburgh University's which has gaps in the bottom.

AFIK you don't need planning permission for a fence up to 2.0 metres.

You do need planning permission it’s a building warrant you don’t need upto 2metres

If my council is anything like others then you can put up a fence at the side and back of your house up to 2m without planning permission, and 1m at the front. I suspect a fence in a previously open space like a football pitch wouldn't be covered by that exemption, is that right?
