A Hearts programme from April 1989 gives their reserve results: on Feb 20th 1989 Hearts reserves beat Broxburn 4-0 at Albyn Park in a match described as "(Flood open)". They have a railing round the pitch and a five foot wire fence round the ground but I believe they have planning permission for a larger, more permanent fence. They have a new committee and I believe plans to improve their ground so hopefully they are on their way back after a few lean years. Yes, the normal mesh fencing boundary around the track can't just be turned into a large view-blocking fence, as that's where the highland games spectators sit. (Well, unless they remove it for one week in August.) So if the Swifts wanted to add a permanent fence it would need to be set so far back it would basically include the whole park (to allow all the highland games spectators, shows, stalls, vans to fit inside it). At least the current fence allows them to take a gate, and if there's a decent crowd your view is going to be restricted standing 15m away if you don't pay to get in. Though the name and address of the person makes me wonder what the objection is, as their location wouldn't be affected by the lights. It is currently an open public park, the fence will change that - so maybe people are concerned about access. A potentially significant change since the 2010 consent is that the land is now protected by "Fields in Trust" (since 2015). There is no consultee response from them on the current application to date.
