senorsoupe
Just saw the replay of the GMS goal, that is brilliant. When he's on his game he's fantastic, unfortunately he's not on his game consistently enough

St Mirren’s two games against Premiership sides have finished 5-0 and 4-1 which would suggest that their defence in particular in not good enough for the top flight, despite them being the BBC media darlings. The bold bit? You mean amongst the multitude of Aberdeen supporting BBC staff? As for the rest, you are just relying on lazy conclusions. You are entitled to your opinion of course. Doctor Sanchez
Fair doos. Went the way that it should, TBF. Aberdeen, whilst looking shakey at the the back, deserved their 3 goal cushion. We were dire in defence. Comical from Stellios, but we looked capable moving forward. Second half after a wonder-strike made it 4-1 we offered nothing. Neither team came close to playing they way thay are capable. Safe home to the troops that made the trip, and good luck to the sheep shaggers. Hope you go all the way or at least put Celtic or the tribute act out on the way. Hope we'll be seeing you next year.

Mostly nondescript in most matches, disappears in hard fought battles, yet up against a lower league team when you're cruising and he'll look like a superstar. Expect a few pieces of outstanding skill in the remainder of the match and everyone raving about 'that's what he's capable of' .... 13 minutes ago, senorsoupe said: Just saw the replay of the GMS goal, that is brilliant. BIG BEN
Hopefully he goes onto to become a good player for them however the fact they were happy to loan him out with Hayes and Roberts both injured tells it's own story. Celtic never had a choice in that. Lewis himself said that he wanted to stay with Saints until the end of season, regardless of who he signed for. Saints held all the aces as we were due a development fee anyway so we wouldn't have lost him for nowt
Ludo*1
The fact that Craig Samson is considered a good Championship level goalie and plays for the team that's top of the league highlights the clear difference in quality alone between the Championship and Premiership this season. We weren't at it today, shit happens, and we will bouce back. Aberdeen deserved their win and good luck to them. One bad performance doesn't make you a bad team. As a nation, we tend to build teams/players up to unrealistic levels then when they have one bad game, we say they can't cut it. The truth lies somewhere in between imo

DrewDon
Mackay-Steven and Christie played well, and I'm looking forward to seeing those two and McGinn on the pitch at the same time. McGinn already began to show glimpses of what we have been missing in the first half of the season when he came on. Stewart shows modest signs of improvement going forward, but is still lacking a consistent end product and got himself into a real mess at St Mirren's goal. Some comical defending from both teams in the first half, but thankfully St Mirren's was slightly worse - or at least more costly. Reynolds just isn't very good, and O'Connor didn't cover himself in glory either. I don't know the nature of Arnason's injury, but hopefully it isn't too problematic and he will be back partnering McKenna soon enough. Oh, and Shinnie didn't get booked - three games in a row without a yellow card, which must be some sort of record for him at Aberdeen.

The fact Gavin Reilly has 20 goals and Lewis Morgan is "by far" the best players at that level says a lot. Morgan looks absolutely miles behind Ryan Christie despite their only being a year difference in age.

Dons_1988
Enjoyable game that today, albeit fucking freezing. If I was a st mirren fan I’d be furious with the boy stelios for that penalty, st mirren had started well and he’s gifted us a goal on our first attack. We played well in spells, thought GMS was having a great game before his goal but how about that for a finish. Absolutely brilliant. He really needs to start showing that consistently, if he can do that (still not convinced) we have some player on our hands and both him and McGinn together could be really exciting. I liked a lot of st mirrens play today, especially first half. Very decent side and would not look out of place in the top league at all. Morgan was a stand out so clearly he’ll need to be replaced. However, I’d be worried defensively (based on today’s viewing). It was all a bit easy for us at times. Also, Craig Samson coached by Jamie langfield, the worst goalkeeping combination of all time?
