North Caledonian League Expansion

As for whether NRJ sides go and get licenced, there's a few formally or informally on the road to doing so. Much of the hype around the pyramid was that it would allow clubs to find their natural level, and they will. It just might take a while in a part of the world where crowds are in the tens, not the hundreds.

Isn't it likely that some (most?) of them are already at their 'natural level'?. Or even above it?

Since the North Region is the only league with 2 divisions, the vast majority are at their natural level.

However, there's the handful across the North Super & Midlands that would supplant current Highland clubs if licensing wasn't a stumbling block.

Its not like Inverurie, Turriff, Formartine, and Strathspey were a cut above on the field when they departed the Juniors.

I wouldn't put it past a couple of sides in the NCL staying up in the Highland League if they got licensed and promoted. Very impressed by Orkney on Saturday who would be a fabulous addition, the SFA might have to put a hand in their wallet though.

. Defeats the whole point of a pyramid. But maybe that's what some the league's want...

Aren't you the guy from the LL thread that fervently supports the ugly sisters B teams getting to bribe their way directly into tier 5 without having to go through the inconvenience of,you know, working their way to there via the newly established pyramid?

Hilarious

No, I think you're getting confused. I'm very pro pyramid. I think about it most days

Loch Ness lose their first game to keep things interesting, still would be 2 points clear even if Invergordon won their four games in hand. Fort William as the highest licensed club would still be 5 behind winning their games in hand.

The banter if Fort beat Strathspey in the playoff… 😳

2 games in hand on Loch Ness, 11 points behind. It's possible, especially if Loch Ness drop in form like the end of last season.
