The Pyramid agreement between SHFL and NCL is still in draft stage and won't be in place until 2021-22, so it'll be a case of waiting until next season anyway.

I understand that the North Juniors still haven't confirmed their acceptance of the pyramid at tiers 6 & 7.

Banks O'Dee were informally approached (again) about filling the vacancy created by Cove leaving, but did not take up the offer.

If Golspie decided to apply to join the HFL for 2021/22, they would probably be invited to join, unless BoD also apply at the same time. It is very unlikely IMO that this will happen until the pyramid is in place for the NCL, and until the virus is 'under control'

Congratulations to Golspie about their floodlights.  It has been a long haul for them.

Looking like the NCL will likely be going into hiatus. Clubs are voting on whether to continue or not, according to the Courier. I'd be surprised if there's a majority wanting to continue in the current circumstances.

Why? Rates are still very low in the Highlands. They only have to fit in another 6-7 fixtures anyway.

Rates are rising exponentially, even in Highland.

I also didn't say they were thinking of cancelling the season, just delaying it. However, there appears to be increasing disquiet amongst players and some clubs; Nairn St Ninian in the North Juniors have suspended training and matches unilaterally. Plus:

Yeah probably best stopping for the lockdown and coming back in February/March time.

Looking at the projected case numbers, lockdown and enhanced restrictions are going to persist beyond February/March.

There's growing evidence of SHFL players being unhappy with the situation as things stand, in particular with regards to player hygiene, travelling and transport, never mind Coronavirus.

Starting in November required fate to align a lot of things in our favour, and so far the weather has been as big a problem as Coronavirus and attempts to defrost the car this morning suggests we're in for at least another weekend of cold temperatures. Strathspey haven't played a league fixture yet, Clach have played one, and we're supposed to be done in mid-April.

The idea that, mid-pandemic, we can send untested players by car, with no showers, from one side of the SHFL region to the other to play Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday in late February, is nuts.

They've gone from around 20/100,000 to where Lanarkshire etc were when they were originally put in tier 4, in  2 or 3 weeks.

I thought so too, but when I checked it's not the case. The dark purple areas are above 400 per 100,000 in the past week, the lighter purple are 200-400 per 100,000.

Mr NCL stating yesterday that he's aiming to get the season finished (there aren't that many matchdays needed to achieve that), but only after any need for testing has been relaxed.
He's assuming Nicola will indeed release us from the current complete lockdown & back to Tiers on her target date of Monday 26th April - quite likely, as a blatant bribe to voters just ahead of the 6th May election. So he's anticipating NCL restart from Saturday 1st May ...assuming Highland isn't put in too-high a Tier.

The UHI is getting a full size artificial pitch. There's no mention in the article if it will include dressing rooms or any other facilities, but at least it could be an option for an NCL team wanting to play in Inverness.
