Would it be possible to have a UHI team enter the league in the future?  We've seen other universities teams enter different leagues in Scotland.

Possible but UHI's fractured nature doesn't lend itself for having a team in the North Caley. They have a side in Perth, Inverness and Elgin iirc.

I go hillwalking every weekend and often end up up to my knees in bogs or on my arse in a peat hag or just otherwise torrentially rained on.
I find a towel and change of clothes is perfectly adequate until I get home for a shower.
There's absolutely no reason for a functioning adult to be driving about wet in their football shorts.

The rules re:changing rooms have been updates so it's now possible for players to get changed.

what is the change?

Inverness is the biggest campus, but there's satellite ones throughout the Highlands and Islands (unsurprisingly). I know Moray College have a team in the Moray Welfare League, but I don't know about any of the others.

It's when you take off your normal clothing and get into your football kit.😉

but seriously, Maxwell's message from the high towers of Hampden said that dressing rooms are still shut for teams:

  • At this stage dressing rooms CANNOT be used on a rotational basis by the same team – ie 5 players changing, they leave and another 5 enter and change.
  • Showers are not permitted under any circumstances

and there's this...

There was reference to special needs etc, swimming but I assume the capacity of any used dressing rooms is 5 (socially distanced) and everyone else must use committee rooms, enclosures etc? Or follow #5 and arrive ready to play?

me too,i was the other side of that clothes bin

have you ever seen anything so utterly preposterous in your life

I saw you trying to use it as camouflage.  I was the idiot who asked you the score twice. I counted about ten of us unless there were some more sitting in the cars. Wouldn't fancy having the Nairn goalie sitting next to me on a bus.

thank god none of us were allowed in the ground,it couldve been catastrophic

the nairn keeper gets his row of seats to himself due to social(and practical)distancing

Yep, you're asked to stay away but can't help but go. And we wonder why SG doesnt trust football fans? 🙄

10 max people standing 15 yards apart in a car park is going to spoil it for everyone. :1eye There may have been someone walking their dog too, not sure if that counts.

people dont follow stupid rules, its a simple as that.telling the 20 or so people who turn up for a NCL game they are a threat to public safety, while its acceptable for them to go to utterly unnecessary shops in shopping centres/restaurants is stupid and people are acting accordingly.

ive been working all the way through this pandemic for an employer that pays lip service to health and safety so id quite like to actually have some enjoyment in my leisure time

scottish government doesnt trust footy fans?trusts a 2 way process

This. Can’t see anything wrong with going to a NCL game providing social distancing is followed. Good luck chucking people out of public parks.

How can they make a rule that allows NCL matches in front of 20 people but not 200? They've got to draw a line somewhere.

I'm sure no-one cares about a handful of fans watching Loch Ness FC, and I might go watch a game at a fence somewhere, and if there are too many people I'll turn straight round and go home. But Bonnytoun Thistle tweeted a pic of a big line of parents along the fence at one of their youth games, and they were much too close to each other. You can't write a rule than governs common sense, unfortunately.

And with that sort of attitude your 'enjoyment' will be restricted to huddling outside the ground like a fugitive rather than actually being on the terraces, in the social club etc. for the foreseeable future because nobody is going to give clubs free rein to self-police this issue.

I'm not sure how in the Highlands of all places you couldn't find something better to do with a decent enough Saturday then that. It's sad more than anything else tbh.

..... but the SG says it's necessary for Youth games to go ahead e.g. for mental and physical health reasons, presumably, as youngsters are less hurt by the virus, even though youngsters can easily pass on the disease (without knowing they have it).

If the parents were allowed into the ground then they could watch at appropriate distances apart i.e. social distancing. Keep them out and you can get scenes such as those shown by Bonnyton.

There will always be people breaking the rules (covid or not) but if you allow controlled access to matches, for all football, you can get people to watch at safe distances. There will always be those that won't do that. It's a fact of life, but the SG doesn't trust its own judgment on this let alone ordinary people.

If you're taking the SG view that, for business reasons it's been ok to socialise in pubs etc, even though it is difficult for pubs to keep people who've been drinking alcohol apart, then why hurt people who wish to support good physical activities e.g. football? Is it more difficult to keep people apart if they're attending a football match than a Bar, or a restaurant?

One argument I've heard is that Governments are afraid that football supporters gather before matches and socialise in groups in Pubs, Bars, etc. If the Pubs and Bars within an agreed distance of a match venue is not allowed to open or sell alcohol via an Off-Licence on match days/before matches then that risk could be controlled to a certain extent.

The other thing is that people need to be able to socialize, if at all possible. Isolation affects mental health. This affects people in all communities and these people need help right now. Watching sport and doing other outdoor activities can help!

The bottom line is that no-one is forced into watching sport live. Don't go to matches if that's the right decision for you or your loved ones but don't hurt others who don't agree with your point of view.

There's two sides to every story and the SG can only think of football at Professional levels and doesn't reach beyond that. They don't even consider, let alone understand, that sport below professional levels is different because it is directly tied into its' local community. Maybe they think there's more votes in supporters of Pro clubs so the others aren't worth bothering with?

“Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.” ― Douglas Bader

Pretty much sums up the situation with sport full-stop at present, & as supporters we're all being made the fool. Need some wise men (or women) leading in Government & sporting governing bodies, but sadly lacking at present.
