c***s on the road

Not roads specifically, but car parks. When I go to a busy supermarket that has a big car park, I will park well away from the store entrance where there are loads of empty parking spaces, and will always park so there are empty spaces either side of me. Today I did that, one empty space on the passengers sides, and at least 5 empty spaces on the drivers side. I come back to find a car parked tight up against me on the drivers side, with still several empty spaces the other side of that car. Why not park with a gap when there are more than enough spaces available to do that?

Im with you if theres plenty of space and the spaces are big enough, and id agree with the earlier suggestion that its likely just folk not able to judge the lines, but i mind at college at least a couple of times parking up nice and neatly within the lines only to get back to the car and have to climb through the passenger side as someone had parked next to me right on or even over the line so there wasnt enough room to get in (possibly as a knock on from someone else next to them parking poorly.) Less chance of getting boxed in if you line up next to another car thats parked neatly so i did that wherever i could at the college (usually rammed tbf so it didnt come up often)

Just before Christmas I was going to my booster jag appointment. It was in sunny Gorebridge, not the handiest for a South Edinburgh resident.

Passing Cameron Toll I was stuck behind a dithering fool who nearly collided with me because they had no idea what lane they should be in. I was stuck behind this idiot in the right hand lane, the left lane being a bus lane, and was going to turn left at the lights. Anyway I turned into the left lane too quickly to get away from the git in front and have been landed with a sixty quid fine for going in the bus lane courtesy of a bus lane camera I hadn't realised had been installed.

It's a fair cop and I hope that my sixty nicker will buy some tarmac for the myriad of potholes in the Capital's roads. But the useless git in front of me that was a cause of the ticket- I hope you get a puncture. On the exposed A70 miles from anywhere. In a blizzard.

c***s that assume any attempt at overtaking means you're a maniac. Was driving up the A82 towards Glencoe, a road I travel often, approaching the Aonach Eagach layby, a good distance before this, while broken white lines still had a fair gap and clear road in front I pulled out for a better look and started to make a pass. During this a car in the distance pulls out the layby, so I abort and pull back in, no harm no drama and none of the cars around me had to adjust speed or panic. Yet driver and passenger of the white car from the layby were frantically indicating I was a w****r. I always look both ways pulling out of layby's and don't instantly assume I have right of way or the road is clear.

On my way to work this morning, I was passed by a BMW with snow covering the side windows. As I was shaking my head at the driver, I then noticed that the roof and back window were completely covered in snow too. About two miles up the road, he was parked in the outside lane with hazard lights on, clearing the snow from the windscreen which had presumably slipped down from the roof. I can't fathom why people don't just clear their car of snow before setting off.

A flutter of snow and the estate dwellers bring their cars to the nearest main road, to double park and turn decent roads in to single track goat herding routes.

Specialists will park near junctions, traffic lights etc.

Absolute çunts, to a man and woman.

Surely pulling out of a layby without checking ahead means that they're the dangerous w@nker?

Is absolutely what I think. Annoying these c***s will be driving down the road thinking they are in the right. Shite circumstance for me, they had ample opportunity to move back into the layby, didn't and essentially forced me to abort and return.

Sweeping generalisation alert….

Remember the days when BMW drivers were regarded as the biggest arseholes on four wheels? Then the title was won by Audi drivers? IMHO there’s a new challenger on the block. Tesla drivers. Ever had one pull up beside you at a set of lights or a junction?

Yes, we know, fancy electric cars are lightning fast away from a standing start. Now fcuk off.

Tesla drivers are easily dealt with - "Oh the new Toyotas look nice"

I've noticed a big increase of folk driving around with those green P plates driving like they're still doing lessons. I don't care if you're a new driver, if you've passed your test you should be able to drive competently.

You take lessons to pass your test. It's only after that when you actually learn to drive

Just had my mind blown there. Person driving towards pedestrian crossing. Light is green. Person stops their car, presumably to wave pedestrians across, despite the green light. Pedestrians just stand there looking bemused.

Car approaching from other direction sees this, and inexplicable also stops at green light. Pedestrians continue looking bemused.

Both cars get the message from the fact that the pedestrians would rather wait as per common sense and normality, and drive on just as light goes to amber.

An honest to god, "What the actual f**k" moment, and two incredibly stupid drivers

Was expecting that to say red! They heard about the soon to be updated highway code and decided to take the hierarchy of road users to the extreme?

Christ that feels like its going to be a clusterfuck. Byers Road and having to give way to every pedestrian looking to cross when its busy (which is pretty much constant) =

Giving way at light controlled signals doesnt make any sense as pedestrians could be deaf/blind and waiting on the relevant signals, but ive been wondering about roundabouts; i think even exiting a roundabout you'll soon need to stop to give way if theres someone wanting to cross... which might mean stopping pretty much *on the roundabout*. With traffic from behind that may not expect or see why you're suddenly slowing down as its clear to the right...

Think i might be investing in a dashcam soon tbh.

Whilst I agree to a point, I'd say perhaps driver maybe saw what had happened and stopped expecting the pedestrians to step out due to the first drivers desperation to carry out a good deed for the day.

I see it quite a lot. Cars inexplicably stopping, giving way with little or no actual idea of the situation they around them, and certainly no comprehension of how their 'good' actions may actually end up putting other road users in danger.
