Partick Thistle v Dundee

Recommended Posts

Just watched it back on Alba, fair play to McCann shaking hands with every Thistle player

O’Dea is a tradgic mess though, fouls Spittal then does the wanky “card him” gesture to the ref..then gets booked.

Storey’s goal was very close to Bain, nice to get some luck for a change with goal bound shots

Hopefully McCann used that same hand to punch mussa in the puss.

Lawless struggled today against the Dundee winger defensively but If it wasn't for Tam Cerny I'd have gave him man of the match. Never stopped running or tracking back, always stuck to his man as best he could. Always available for a pass and trying to make things happen when we had the ball. Young Mcarthy didn't have the best game he'll have for Thistle but no lack of effort from him, having him and Edwards more central actually allowed Barton to be more comfortable behind them. Erskine s trying too hard to make a killer pass ATM. Only other negative would be having Keown and Devine together in defence they are far too similar, they both lack a bit of positional  awareness and are so drawn to the ball they in end up in each other's way. How many times both of them slid in to make the same block or tackle was Crazy. Apart from that a great win for us and getting a goal that late the opposition didn't have a chance to score again was sheer genius :P.  Bring on Tuesday ! Also nice to see Fraser on the bench :thumsup2

Play Storey where he is meant to be played and he will score goals.  The big difference today is that we had Barton playing just in front of the defence and dropping in whenever any of the central defenders ventured up. Cerny was magnificent, then again he usually is. Not a great performance but we needed to grind out a result by whatever means and we did. The difference from the last two horrific games is that we battled and battled, something that didn't happen last week or at Motherwell. If we can build on that next week, the league will look a whole lot better. As for Dundee, they have some decent players and won't be in any trouble. I can understand how they feel tonight because of how many times we have had that kick in the teeth.

Dools pass couldnt have been any more perfect :) Cernys been Archie's best signing and hope he can carry on playing for years to come.

The minute Cerny nears a year left on his contract (this summer) he should immediately be offered another improved two year contract!

I'd love a keeper the quality of Cerny for Dundee. He goes massively under the radar, and he's a bit of a w****r when it comes to time-wasting but he's top quality.

Glad he s our w****r  Ultimate pro really should be our captain.

Thought he was a great keeper at Hamilton but when you see him every week you appreciate how lucky we are to have him.  After seeing the Hibs goalie today it beggars belief that he didn't even get a start with Hibs in the 6 months he was there.  To me he is the best keeper in the league.

Bain was horrendous for our equaliser.

Bain was timewasting today too tbf, he just hasn't got the time waster reputation tag that Cerny has.
It's pretty lol watching people in the North Stand go mental at any goalkeeper for time wasting when we have the master at it

Tomas can fold time.

The minute we missed the penalty, I thought we’d end up regretting it - not because of anything Thistle had done, but more because we’re so profligate it’s unreal. As much as folk will focus on Moussa’s misses, AJLS had several chances to extend the lead and didn’t take any of them. People clamouring for Haber should remember that he needs about 10 chances to score once, so he’s not necessarily the answer.

Thought Curran and Kamara were excellent today - Curran’s directness was causing all sorts of problems, and it was good to see Kamara taking the ball further up the park and contributing up top. Mental that none of our midfield have scored a league goal this season, though (unless Deacon counts - hard to know how to describe him.)

Curran was very impressive!

Actually Thought Jack Hendry played well today for Dundee and McCanns game plan was working until Archie switched it up. Credit to the managers change of shape and subs today. We got a bit of luck which we deserved! Bains fumble from McGinns shot was piss poor and was the only reason we got an equaliser.
