Anyone had a new terracing cover or shed built recently?

Just walked past Buffs Park and they are continuing with their cracking work so you should contact someone from there.

If anyone from the buffs is reading this what are you guys doing down at the river end behind the goals? Looks like an area is being built facing away from the park.

If it's the building with the blue roof it's a new turnstile, suitable for disabled access.

There's also a section that the Buffs seem to have acquired directly next to it which has been used for car parking recently. Apparently this is where the new clubhouse and changing rooms will be located once finances are arranged. There was a blueprint for it on the official Facebook page a few weeks ago. The present changing facilities are totally inadequate for this level.

Another option that may be cheaper or at least easier is to get 40' shipping containers, place on a solid surface with 1 side facing the pitch and cut the side out. You will need to keep the strengthening uprights in to support the roof. The corrugated sheet that is cut out can be used for any repairs. The guys at lochgelly stock car track have used these a fair bit

I would imagine that this proposal could meet with some significant resistance from both  local residents  and subsequently the local authority. Doing this without permission could result in it being removed.

Aside the fact it would look absolutely hellish!

What next? Ask the local Tesco for hunners a plastic bags and wire hangers?

Allowing 2 feet per spectatorand with four 2 foot wide steps, first one at ground level and 8" rise between them you could accommodate up to 80 quite easily in a container with still 6 foot headroom on the rear step.

You can buy s/hand containers for a couple of thousand pounds, probably even cheaper for beat up ones.

Allow another 1k for transport, paint and slabbing, we got about 800 linear feet of 3x2 slabs free to uplift from monoblock contactors to repair our own terracing a few years back. All you need are a few volunteers and -Hey Presto, a servicable little covered enclosure for not more than 3 grand.

I assumed that anyone building a covered terrace or small stand would follow planning regs

The photo looks better than it sounded, however, having been involved with regeneration and building projects since the late 80s I would be astonished if that passed any local authority scrutiny.

I'm sure Civil Service converted bike sheds into a covered enclosure in the lowland league. No idea how it looks right enough.

Not bad, but also not sure how much shelter it would actually provide
