I pay for my own transport to work, 8 miles distant. I pay for my own refreshments in the staff canteen. And you reckon that my questioning of these expenses means I've been brainwashed????? And hate Scotland???? I would have thought the 3 miles was for cycling from her work to some other place of business. Does seem daft but if it wasn't that mode of transport it would probably be a bus or a taxi. Standard practice in the public sector to claim for transport from your main office to another place of business.The MSPs probably also pay for their expenses in the canteen - at least I would hope they do - but if they have guests in and there's a meeting or they offer to buy the guests a coffee, this will probably go down to expenses. Otherwise they'd be skint given the amount of punters they probably have to meet.Similarly, their office staff probably also put claims in. Because that's clearly not what Shades75 said, in the post that he's deleted, but that you've kindly quoted for posterity.
