The European wake-up continues.

Looking elsewhere slightly further east, the lessons of living under the totalitarianism of Communism obviously had a telling effect on Eastern European countries such that they recognise and will fight other totalitarian movements/threats such as 'Progressivism' and Islam, and will actively work to protect their heritage. The damn anti-Commie racists!

Looks like these Germans know what's up.

I'm now half expecting  some topical zingers about the relief of Mafeking

Absolutely, peace and prosperity are worthless when you can occasionally hear someone speaking Turkish on the S-Bahn in downtown Düsseldorf

Come on now. You know this isn't the problem. Roughly 1% of people in the US or any European country have a problem with hearing someone speak Turkish occasionally in public.

At risk of annexing the Sudetenland... the Czechs held their parliamentary election yesterday & today.

Right-of-centre populist front ANO'11 swept the board and could arrange an overall majority with the Conservatives. Protest movement aka 'Pirate Party' go from 0 seats to 22 and the anti-EU front also enter parliament for the first time with the same number.

Huge losses for the centre-left Social Democrats who drop to 6th, the Communists, and the Liberals who plunge to 8th. No seats for the Libertarians or Greens.

Results:

ANO'11 (Populist Right) ... 78 seats, +31
ODS (Conservatives)... 25 seats, +9
PSD (Far Right) ... 22 seats, +22
Pirate Party ... 22 seats, +22
Communists ... 15 seats, -18
Social Democrats ... 15 seats, -35
Czech CDU ... 10 seats, -4
TOP'09 (Liberals) ... 7 seats, -19
STAN (Mayors & Independents Alliance) ... 6 seats, +6
