The officials missing the ball bouncing twice before sharapova hit it, then it was shown on the big screen:lol:

Could be crucial as it would have put Babos 30-0 up on sharapova's serve

Edit - she's broken sharapova anyway. Now serving for the set. It would be well deserved from what I've seen

Shapovalov beats Tsonga in straight sets, tbf the boy has screwed the nut since leathering the umpire in the Davis Cup at the start of the year.

Makarova was serving for the match at 5-4 in the second against Wozniaki, if she had got any "tighter" she would have stopped moving completely. Match is now into the 3rd set.

Edit: Makarova wins it in the 3rd.

Kyrgios and Zverev seem to be able to hold it mentally against the top guys, but against guys they should be beating they just can't show the same fight and mental strength.  That bottom half is wide open for anyone that wants it.  Cilic looks impressive.

Edmund the only Brit left in the singles

He seems to be in decent form, he plays Shapovalov next and should have a good chance of winning. Shouldn't be forgotten that he was 2 sets and a break up against him before he scudded the umpire.

Shapovalov beat him at Queens.  Should be a good contest, and will show where both players are physically.  I hope Shapovalov wins.  However I would bet on Edmund as his odds are far longer than they should be.  Semi Final in Cinci and coming through qualifiers might see him tire if the match goes deep.

So Zverev, Dimitrov, Kyrgios, Berdych, Tsonga all gone before the second round is finished. In what was already a weak field, this is getting ridiculous.

Who's ready for a Roberto Bautista v Lucas Pouille final?

Murray with the sore hip would have probably strolled it to the final, as cilic will no doubt get injured.

JMDP could be a dark horse here, shame he is on the Nadal/Fed side.
