HibeeJibee
Last season Edusport Academy were automatically promoted to LL (Lothian Thistle HV being unlicensed) and Preston Athletic relegated to EOSL. Selkirk were reprieved when Cove didn't reach SPFL2. This season's playoff is Saturday 5th & 12th May. Kelty Hearts have joined EOSL and Bonnyton Thistle SOSL... where Wigtown & Bladnoch, dubbed "the lesser invincibles" who only missed-out on promotion to LL due to a late collapse, have withdrawn after almost all their players left. Duns and Fleet Star haven't returned. LL are 6 games in, and pointless Hawick and Vale of Leithen (3pts) currently occupy the relegation slots. Above them are Whitehill & Edinburgh Uni on 4pts, CSS on 5pts, then slew beyond that.http://slfl.co.uk/lowland-league-table/ SOSL are 9 games in but a few have been postponed over Scottish Cup commitments. Lochar are the early leader (but unlicensed) - hotly pursued by Heston, Bonnyton and Newtown Stewart while Threave have 3 games-in-hand. St Cuthbert Wanderers have made a wretched start - 5th bottom on 4pts.http://www.southofscotlandfootballleague.co.uk/Divisions Early days in EOSL where Kelty, LTHV, Heriot-Watt Uni and Leith all have maximum points. Preston also joint top.http://www.eosfl.com/leaguetables.asp

As noted by Parsforlife - the club in 15th will be relegated if: * HL champion is promoted and someone south of the Tay relegated (i.e. anyone except Elgin, Montrose or Peterhead) * either EOSL or SOSL champion is licensed
LongTimeLurker
Cove Rangers in the playoff with a new stadium in place would be gung ho for promotion in a way Brora and Buckie clearly were not and Kelty are probably still favourites for the EoS even if they are a long way from being dead certs with LTHV and Leith Athletic around. Maybe a 20% chance of two going down.

Also if Cove win promotion, and Montrose, Elgin or Peterhead don't finish bottom of SPFL 2, will Banks O'Dee be automatically promoted to the HFL thereby keeping the Highland membership at 18 clubs ? Whitburn Vale
Cove's new ground won't be ready till early next year and its an absolute stick-on that Banks would be brought in to replace Cove in the HL, if Cove are promoted to the SPFL. AlanCamelonfan
What is the complete list of clubs that can be promoted from the East of Scotland and South of Scotland Leagues to the Lowland League?
HibeeJibee
EOSL - Preston Athletic, Coldstream, Burntisland Shipyard SOSL - Newton Stewart, Threave Rovers, St Cuthbert Wanderers Other clubs are reported to be working towards licences e.g. Kelty, LTHV, Bonnyton, though there will be big variation in the timescale and what they still need to do. Going by their own stuff Kelty for example seems to be imminent, others will be further away... It's worth adding Heston share a licensed ground (QotS) but haven't obtained a licence, plus Tynecastle share Saughton with LTHV.
HibeeJibee
Bump. September is done - lets see how things stand across the leagues. Afoot LL we find Hawick still pointless but now 5pts adrift of Edinburgh University themselves 1pt behind Vale of Leithen. Above them is a collection of clubs in low double figures headed by Dalbeattie, Gala and Whitehill. Hawick have a new manager, a core of new players and have steadied results from the preceding thrashings - although their game at home to East Stirlingshire yesterday was waterlogged. They've 2 big games coming up, visiting Dalbeattie on Wednesday then hosting Gala on Saturday.http://slfl.co.uk/lowland-league-table/ It's a familiar face atop EOSL as Preston make the early running in this division, with 15pts from a possible 18. After them are 4 clubs jammed together on 12pts - Kelty, LTHV, Tynecastle and Heriot-Watt Uni - followed by Leith and Peebles.http://www.eosfl.com/item.php?pg=league&pd=1049&it=141Lochar continue to lead SOSL but their previous lead has been considerably eroded in recent weeks... They stand 3pts ahead of Heston, 5pts ahead of Newton Stewart, and 7pts ahead of new outfit Bonnyton (who have 1 game in hand). Worthy of mention is Threave who despite sitting in 9th have 4 game in hand - victories in those would put them a notional joint top.http://www.southofscotlandfootballleague.co.uk/Divisions
leomessi1984
Took in the visit of Hawick to Kelty on Tuesday night. Although Kelty played very well Hawick looked to be several levels below where I would expect a Lowland League team to be. It could well have been 10 plus had there been a bit more clinical finishing. Not sure if it was Hawicks 1st 11 but looked to be from what I have read and seen so think they will struggle to escape the drop if it comes. Bankies Alive
What happens if both the EoSL winners and the SoSL winners are licensed?
HibeeJibee
News today that Kelty Hearts have received their licence. This means that, as things currently stand, they and EOSL leaders Preston Athletic are eligible for promotion among EOSL's top 6. In SOSL only 2nd place Newton Stewart currently hold the award among current top 6. However as noted Threave would be up here with their games-in-hand. Of course other clubs in both leagues are working towards licences over varying timeframes.

HibeeJibee
It's evident a distinction was made for existing members getting licensed, to retain their membership. Nonetheless the anomaly which they and Linlithgow Rose represent should be resolved, tbf.
HI HAT
Still think that Linlithgow will apply to join the EOSFL when Kelty win the league, license anomaly disappears when that happens, it's going to be a one at a time application from the top junior teams as a way of getting into the Lowland league to then get a crack at getting into the SPFL. It's all about timing. One promotion step at a time. Looking good for the Lowland league in my book.
