I have “Dixie” Deans’ full name as John Kelly Deans. The Dixie of course coming from the Everton & England striker “Dixie” Dean and the origins of his nickname are lost in the mists of time although there are some theories. Apparently the original Dixie disliked the nickname whereas by all accounts the second one loved it because of the association with the goal scoring Evertonian.
