Walter
A big thumbs up to Sportscene for combining two of my favourite things. Partick Thistle and The Fall.

If a guy comes in at knee height a la McGregor, you'll do your damndest to get out the road. If he misses and your evasion of the impending collision results in you not getting to the ball, a free kick is the correct call. That said, that isn't the case with the Defoe incident, that was a dive. yes but there is a difference in evasion and anticipation. evasion is avoiding a lunge you see coming at you. anticipation in the eyes of pundits is the player thinking that a tackle is coming and the player tumbling over as he is supposedly off balance in seeking to evade a tackle that never actually comes.

Maybe in the pundits eyes, but anticipating a leg breaker that does come in and managing to avoid it should still be a foul especially if it puts you off your stride. The argument is that anticipating a tackle shouldn't result in a foul. I've pointed out that that isn't necessarily true.In fact anticipating a tackle often doesn't include evading it but does prevent serious injury.

I think we both agree on this. they key point is that as long as the tackle is attempted and the striker doesn't attempt to evade an imaginary tackle.......

Radford
Someone like @The Master has maybe already addressed this, so apologies if so, but what is the plan for Sportscene when BBC Two Scotland goes off air forever this Sunday evening? What will happen to the 6:00pm show going forward?

What will happen to the 6:00pm show going forward? A week on Sunday, its first airing is on BBC1 but swapped with MOTD - i.e. it comes first at 10.30, rather than second at nearly midnight. Going forward I'd expect it just to slot into the new channel as it was on BBC2. The late repeat on BBC1 might be dispensed with, since the new channel will be in HD (which seems to be the main reason for the repeat).

kingjoey
Scott McDonald is the same as a “pundit” as he was as a player. A moaning, greetin’ faced wee guy. I’ll swear that I’ve never seen him smile on Sportscene, not ever.
fatshaft
What is the point of Billy Dodds? Monday's game - Fox clearly at fault for first goal...Dodds - "nothing keeper could have done there". HT pundits - "keeper could have done much better there" During game -"Fox is a top top keeper" - Liam McLeod/Pundits - "Fox has a reputation for some dodgy moments"(or somesuch) Now, you didn't need to be a goalkeeping expert to know the first, nor to have watched many Ross Co games to know the second. So does Doddsy just spout fitba-speak and hope it passes for comment?

yoda
Jim McIntyre (and by association, Billy Dodds) signed Fox for County. He’s obviously still quite loyal to the guys he coached at County. That much is clear whenever he mentions them.

DA Baracus
Scott Brown should have got a straight red for his challenge but the panel all agree it was only a yellow. They all instantly agreed that Broadfoot's was a red though. Both were obvious reds but for some inexplicable reason they were much more generous to Brown.
