Man United 3/5 against Cardiff today. I appreciate they've had their problems but that still feels generous against the worst side in the division.

On paper they might be the worst side but they have strong home form which I think could be enough to see them survive.

Still think Man Utd will win, but reckon the price is about right.

My main coupon today is a £7.50 4 fold on Aberdeen, Arbroath, Charlton and Stoke returning £90.

Just won £80 after putting £5 on Tom Walsh FGS in our game at 16/1.

Slightly irked that Bet365 aren't covering the Cowdenbeath-Edinburgh City in play, meaning my coupon of Killie, Hibs, Ayr, Airdrie and Edinburgh City isn't available for cashout.  So far City winning with all other games as draws, £5 wins me £135.60.

I've also put £5 on Chisora to win by KO, TKO or DQ at 13/2.  I don't think he will win but that's a good value bet.  It certainly isn't an unlikely outcome.

Little bit ahead of time but when it comes to value it very much pays to look earlier in the week. I noticed Berwick are 11/2 with bet365 to win away at Cowdenbeath on Saturday coming. Now Berwick are pretty poor but they shouldn’t be 11/2. I’d make them about 3/1 so this represents outstanding value. Come kick off I highly doubt they’ll still be 11/2.

I also see Alloa are 13/2 with the same firm to win at Dunfermline. This price is unlikely to change too much but again it’s good value. I’d make Alloa maybe 9/2. They’re a damn good side and they’ve beaten QOS and Dundee United in their last 2 games. Dunfermline on top of their game should win but the Pars have thrown in more than their fair share of stinkers this season and I don’t think it would be shocking if Alloa won. If you’re feeling less adventurous then a handicap bet such as Alloa+1 at 13/8 could be worth a go, but the biggest % value is with the straight win at 13/2.

(Cue Dunfermline winning 4-0)

Team that have caught my eye recently that I don't think the bookies have caught up with yet are Carlisle. They are currently 2/1 to win away at Northampton who are in poor form although they do seem to be draw specialists.

Carlisle are in 5th place and have won seven away league games so far this season and no other team in this league have won more. They are in good form with victories in all of their last six matches. I was more confident until I realised their manager resigned recently and they don't seem to have been as solid under their interim manager. Northampton have only won 3 home games this season & have not won any of their last five matches.

Odds look wrong to me. 2/1 considering form is great price for Carlisle.

Purely based on our last two meetings with Berwick, I think evens for BTTS would be a decent addition to a BTTS coupon. We’ve shipped fives goals in two games against them yet haven’t lost either of them. I fully expect us to win today but then so did I at Broadwood last time out and somehow we went 3 behind at half time. For a SL2 game I think those odds are quite generous.

East Fife look too big at 12/5 (PP) to add to a string of minor cup scalps by turfing ourselves out of the cup in Methil; we are turgid and have mustered about ten shots on goal in our last five league games, so it's really not too difficult to see a home win panning out there.  Auchinleck at 14/1 on their own patch against an Ayr side in terrible form and with key players missing in recent weeks is also tasty IMO.  Queen of the South adding to Dundee's 108 years of Scottish Cup hurt is also very tempting at 4/1. If their one-trick forward line does its one trick then the gap between the two sides will be minimal.

Looks like a weekend for speculative singles.

Also liked the look of QoS. Think Raith are a tad overpriced too.

Off to Blackburn - Ipswich tomorrow and despite them being rank rotten I might have an insurance bet on Ipswich. They will be scrapping for points and Rovers played 120 mins on Tuesday
