Troon Portland
Couple of good games today, thought our match v Killie was a cracker! St. Mirren were possibly the most competitive Under 20 team I've seen, that game was a bit physical. Today's results:12pm Troon F.C. 2-2 (5-6 on pens) Kilmarnock U20s3pm Arthurlie 0-1 St. Mirren U20s Tomorrow's fixtures:12pm Troon F.C. v Arthurlie3pm St.Mirren v Kilmarnock (Portland Cup Final)Doors open at 11am and entry for the whole day is £4 for adults, £2 for concessions and Under-16s are FREE, with live football from Arsenal's Emirates Cup on the big screens again. Bankiestonk
Bankies played st mirren u20 team over a week ago, thought the same, ref saved them from possibly having sending offs, bit ott in tackles,if it was the junior team that was putting the boot in , then you'd soon have heard them, friendlies for feck sake

Wouldn't be surprised if he did, we actually took players off to protect them , not worth getting players injured in what was our first pre season game
Troon Portland
Congratulations to St. Mirren Under 20s on winning the trophy today, have to say after watching all the four games they were the worthy winners overall. Four very evenly matched teams took part and the gap between 1st and 4th was very minimal indeed. Thanks to all those who took part, or came along & supported! Players were all very respectful about the club & cleared up after themselves in the dressing rooms as well, and Allan and Andy brought them into the club afterwards to socialise for a while afterwards which was a nice touch. Teaching them to be good players but also good guys as well, not the pampered stars a lot of Under 20s seem to be. I know where I would take my son to play!Andy Millen looks in the early days of doing something very similar at Killie, and they played some great football as well, St. Mirren just had that little bit more today. Had a good chat with Chris Mackie & Willie McCulloch over the weekend too & hope they do well this season.Very enjoyable weekend overall, glad we did it!
