I'd say unlikely, you've got a raft of emerging nations with decent sized populations that would thrive with more places, teams like the DR Congo who have made a huge resurgence since they were Zaire. It's also good for other nations who might not otherwise get a chance to make it. Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Gambia, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritania, Sao Tome & Principe, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan and Swaziland have all yet to make their debut - and some have came close to doing so, just missing out like Swaziland and CAR did for the most recent tournament. African football has come far in a short space of time but it's still got a long way to go. Expanding and modifying the Cup of Nations is just one of several major surgeries CAF need to do. From 2020 it'll clash with Euros. So in future you'll have:Year 1 ... Asian Cup (January) / European Nations League Finals, Africa Cup of Nations, Gold Cup Year 2 ... North American Nations League Finals (March) / European Championships, Copa America, Oceania Nations Cup / Olympics (July) Year 3 ... Confederations Cup, European Nations League Finals, Africa Cup of Nations, Gold Cup Year 4 ...
