V.Aye.R
In an old job the development team werr handing out new recipe bags for feedback. Id picked up a crate of stuff to hand round the office just to save them the walk. One woman made a big fuss about allergens despite being told in advance and the other finance goblin declared loudly she didn't own a microwave and cooked everything from fresh. Was only in reaction to them moaning they "never got offered any of the new stuff" constantly. It is maybe just finance people though. Of about 20 of them I'd only ever give about 4 the time of day. Total losers.

Working in kitchens is great, the people are usually sound or mental but it's hot work for long hours working late at night and weekends. Being in an office or at home means I have more money and more me time. Although less people who are properly unhinged. I worked in kitchens when I was a student in summers, hands down my happiest working times.

scottsdad
Our Head of School had an all staff meeting early in the summer. He was stressing the need for people to take their holidays, not to check emails while on leave, all of that stuff. Spoke to a colleague of mine yesterday. Last week, when she was on holiday, he contacted her demanding an "urgent" meeting. Didn't matter that she was on holiday, she had to attend. So she did...and the meeting was about the most trivial, unimportant thing. Not only that, but it is my area - not hers - so he should have been in touch with me instead. He is a knob though. And a bully.

philpy
If I worked in the office at my work, I'd end up in the pokey for murder. Two of the office folk are the most noisiest eaters I've ever encountered.

Closest I got was leaving an autoreply stating words to the effect of "sorry, but there's literally nobody left to deal with your query - please contact [regional manager's email]. When he doesn't reply, try [national manager's email]. When he doesn't reply, try emailing our CEO at [redacted] and ask why you've had to work your way through four organisational levels to receive a response". Best part is that my boss walked in on me typing this on my last day, made approving noises, and the message is still up.

HK Hibee
Have worked in Asia for 17 years which requires a bit of cultural sensitivity however there are still some things beyond the pale. Not long after I got here in 2004 I was sent to South Korea on a project for a client looking to buy a Korean bank. One day I went for a d**p and was taking a few minutes for myself when I heard someone else come into one of the cubicles. Cue a symphony of some fairly disturbing noises coming out of this guys arse I think nothing of it and proceed to wash my hands when the other guy, who turns out to be a colleague from the local Korean firm , emerges from his cubicle with a sheaf of papers the client provided and strolls out without washing his hands Moral of the story. Koreans are minging b*****ds

Suppose it’s to stop folk getting to wasted if they need to speak to their boss to get more. There was an arsehole in front of me who tried to get a bottle of wine with one of his! I made the mistake of accepting a "management" position once and at some dinner the boss was ordering and asked for a bottle of white after getting nods from a few acolytes. I said I preferred red which he grudgingly ordered on top. Then some c**t asked me to pass the bottle!
