Cheers mate. Tough first game for us, I feel BSC will be challenging this year

Hope so. The board has certainly backed the manager with the number of new players he's brought in. We should be a far tougher proposition for most of the teams in the league. I still fully expect East Stirlingshire, East Kilbride and Spartans to be 3 of the top 4. If we can get ourselves into that top 4 I'll be happy.

Looking at the players yous have brought in, i fancy bsc to be serious contenders this season. Some great signings. If teams gels quickly they will be right up there.

TBH I'm pretty excited about this season. I'm on holiday when they play the first couple of friendlies so it will be another couple of weeks before I see them in action. Hopefully Swifty can get them to gel quickly though.

Gala Fairydean Rovers away from home on the first day for the 5th year in succession! Whitehill in the first season of the LL, Preston Athletic the next two years, BSC Glasgow  last season and now Edusport.

Any other teams experienced this?

We've started at home to your good selves, away to Dalbeattie, home to Threave, home to East Kilbride last year and we are away to Selkirk this time.

Edinburgh Uni - 5 successive seasons begun away until this coming season.

Threave - (at least) 6 until this coming season.

What does it mean HJ?

Last season there were roughly the same derby 'groupings' but Cumbernauld was in with EK/Gretna/Dalbeattie, BSC in with 'Shire/unis and Preston in with Whitehill/Spartans/CSS:

Interestingly there'll be double New Year's action at Ainslie Park in SPFL2... Edinburgh City v Clyde (Sat 30th Dec) + Edinburgh City v Berwick (Tue 2nd Jan).

Pardon my ignorance, or if it has been noted in another thread, but who are Edusport and where have they come from?

Cheers in advance.

Groundsharing with Annan.  They're a team for French boys who come to Scotland to play themselves into the shop window for footy scholarships and suchlike.

Bump.

As often happens some of the New Year weekend games are getting moved about as clubs go in search of bumper crowds or a quiet weekend.

According to LL website and club twitters University of Stirling v Edinburgh University in the university derby has come forward to Tuesday 20th December while BSC Glasgow v Civil Service Strollers is now Friday 29th December.

As things stand Dalbeattie-Gretna, Gala-Hawick, Selkirk-Vale of Leithen, Whitehill-Spartans, East Stirlingshire-Cumbernauld & EK-Edusport would appear to still be going ahead on Saturday 30th.
