You said he was from same village as you so I assumed you went to same school!

Village??

I'll have you know Crieff is a bustling metropolis, capital of Strathearn.

But we'll accept 'town'.

Fair enough. I always thought McGregor was from Crieff as his mum lives/lived round the corner from me.

No idea about HSF though

No I'm originally from a small village near Helensburgh. Moved to Crieff when I was 10. Crieff is the best part of #perthshire and is home to McGregor and his uncle Dennis Lawson.

Notable former pupils[edit]

Pretty much a bunch of c***s apart from King Dougie Vipond .

Smeato is missing from the list - should be mentioned given what day it is.

I was unware of Keith Lasley until about a year ago, weird one as my brother would have been in the same year (born about six weeks apart) and has no recollection of him.

Kilsyth Academy

Stuart McDonald (MP) - One of my best mates at school and to this day.
Dawn Steele (Actress)
Laura Miller (STV news presenter)
Stuart Coleman (Clyde and (former ?) chaplain of Clyde
Keir McAllister (Comedian)

A couple of boys played for Queens Park, can only remember their nick names. Bucket and Nonay (No idea either)

Cannot believe this list didn't contain Jimmy Krankie, who presented me with a 3rd place prize in the school talent show one year. She was wearing a dress, looked really weird.

also,

Mark Stewart (of Falkirk, Raith and now Dumbarton fame)

The Twilight Sad (band)

Alexander Graham Bell
Walter Scott
Ronnie Corbett
John Menzies

Are the ones I remember being famous without Wikipedia, other than that probably any number of politicians, rugby players and footballers. There were a few that went into lower leagues in my year for sure.

Ah, right, I'm in my late thirties so wouldn't know him.

Wouldn't say I was posh, but I'm not scum either. Only went to Campbell cos I lived close by. Hated the snobbishness of the place.

He says the same, full of stuck up b*****ds. Where did you live? My wife's from Ballyhackamore/Belmont area

No list online but off the top of my head:

  • George Galloway
  • Donald Findlay
  • Kezia Dugdale
  • Sam Robertson
  • Christian Dailly
  • Stefani Dailly
  • Lee Wilkie
  • Craig Wighton
  • Craig Brewster

Pretty sure there are more than that.

Divit (inverkeithing) high school;
Gordon Durie, Stephen Hendry, Craig Levein, Steven Pressley, Blair Alston, Liam Smith - there's a few lads playing in the lower leagues as well.

Beat me to it, also Greig Spence and ex-Arbroath and maybe Brechin defender Jamie Bishop was in my class, as was the brother of Stevie McColl, a professional egg chaser.

You must be a bit older than myself if Jamie Bishop was in your classes. Stevie McColl was a year or two above me. Josh Morris has signed for Cowdenbeath as well. Another lower league player from divit. Really are making these other schools look shite.
