Still need a 3rd striker IMO

IF GG had went of injured last night then all we have left is Kyogo as Maeda is not a striker

Agree about Maeda. Do we have any decent young strikers ? might be worth putting them as 3rd striker and starting to give them some 1st team minutes where possible

Johnny Kenny would be seen as the best youngster right now but he’s on loan at Queens Park now. Tbh I happy enough with Maeda in the middle, he got some scrappy goals playing there when he first came. Its obviously a downgrade from GG and Kyogo but realistically what level of striker are we going to convince to come in as 3rd choice when we only ever really play one. Just need to make sure we manage Our strikers game time correctly where possible.

Maeda is a natural striker he was top goal scorer in the J League before coming to us so i’ve no issue with him playing there. Failing that young Rocco Vata is surely one to start bringing through

Unreal at times during that first half. Whatever way it goes from here, that was impressive and bodes well for the rest of the group.

Yep good first half, but the old well used phrase, the game lasts 90 mins and you've got to keep it up in the 2nd half, which isn't easy to do at that level, against top teams. I see Shakhtar won 4-1 too, will be interesting seeing how well you can do against them.

They were some team, the way they can play through a press and straight into attack was wonderful. It’s the sort of football you can only aspire to be able to play at that level.

They are the benchmark

It really is wild stuff that having 11x the revenue of your opponents can do to gaps in quality and scorelines ......
