That doesn't mean Ferguson was right, though.

He still knows more about football, though. Which was my original point.

No we weren’t. You might be discussing  a poll by the bbc in which more Celtic fans voted than anyone else, but I was commenting on the video a page or two back of Alex Ferguson humouring Celtic fans at a Celtic event by saying winning the European cup was the greatest achievement in British football.

Think @kennie makevin is right to highlight Nottingham Forest’s rise from flirting with relegation from tier 2 to league Champions, double league cup winners and double European cup winners in the space of 3 years. For all the talk of Pep, Jurgen and Ancelotti as the best ever,  Brian Clough has to be in the conversation.

It wasn’t Celtic fans asking him the question and he had absolutely no reason to say that as none of the questions led him to say that. Furthermore as an ex Rangers player he knows saying something like this loses him favour so again why say if he genuinely doesn’t believe it? Makes no sense.

But yeah you and Kennie, who refuses to give Celtic any credit for anything and doesn’t have an objective view, definitely have an opinion that holds more weight than one of the greatest football managers of all time.

Let’s get real

You have an opinion and that’s ok but that is all it is.

And that's very nice for him.

The most successful Scottish manager in football history thanks you. As does Paulo.

It’s wild how a wee daft BBC poll has upset some people

If you don’t think the 67 team that won it all, then fair enough.

Just don’t get annoyed that others do, or don’t be petty trying to devalue the achievements they made.

It’s close season on a football forum m8. Wtf sort of debate were you expecting?

It was very amusing.

Oh young Jinky you may be a master of putting little meme(?)things in posts, a talent that continues to pass me by, but if you genuinely think Celtic's sole European Cup win is a greater acheivement than Nottingham Forest's consecutive triumphs in the late 70s then you probably know less about football than Owen Wilson.

Not annoyed or trying to devalue achievements. Just placing those acheivements in context. Why does that annoy you ??

I honestly think Sir Alex knows lots more about football than you do. Wouldn’t you agree?

Not if he genuinely thinks Celtic winning the European Cup is the greatest achievement in the history of football he doesn't.

celtic won a European cup?

They've kept that quiet.

I heard the old Rangers who died won a European trophy many years back.

They kept it so quiet that they were presented with the trophy in a small room in the stadium.

Is that really true?

OK Kennie.

It's the equivalent of John Cleese being quest of honour at a dinner honouring Dawn French & declaring 'The Vicar of Dibley' to be the towering achievement of British sitcom.  Lovely thing to say to faithful, very polite and respectful but utter nonsense.

To take you back to a while ago when you took umbrage to me saying Celtics 1967 win was unequalled then answer me this.

In either of those years did Nottingham Forest win every single trophy they played for?

In either of those years did Nottingham Forest win with 11 Englishmen all born within 30 miles of Nottingham?

If the answer to any of the above is no then you have my answer and it’s pretty obvious the view isn’t just exclusive to me or Celtic fans or people just wouldn’t bother their arse voting for these things or offering an opinion would they? It seems a far as opinions go it’s you dear Kennie who seems to be pishing into the wind

I wish I could say I’m sorry that this seems to rattle you but I’m not, it’s pretty funny.

And below is a picture of the greatest club side to exist should you ever forget who they are 😉💚

I’ve seen some shit takes however to suggest Sir Alex Ferguson knows less about football than tedious Kenny from P&B is comedy fucking gold.
