Glasgow City have gone backwards over the course of the season and I am not convinced that their new coach knows how to get a tune out of them. I predict a two-filly race for the SWPL title next season.

Both sides fell just short of historic seasons though. With a week to go Liverpool were chasing an unprecedented quadruple but, after their 1-0 Champions League defeat by Real Madrid, they end with just the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. I assume he’s talking about ‘in England’.
Drew Brees
Karamoko Dembele a free agent as of today, shame he never lived up to the hype, too many injuries and not enough chances to price himself. Needs 1st team football somewhere.

I trust the manager and he clearly didn’t rate him higher than Abada, looked to have tons of promise so maybe wonder if it’s down to attitude or application

If we learn anything we should stop overhyping some of our young players and putting pressure on them before they have achieved anything, hes the most recent in a long line we have done that too. If anything we have had a negative impact on their careers. Our lack of playing young players too meant there was rarely a chance for them to make that step up anyway. Hopefully Ange has changed this though and now the path to first team is supported and has some plan too it. A few years from now people will really start to comprehend how incredible the 2020-21 cup double by a team with the budget a fraction of most teams in the same league, really was. At the time of Celtic‘s European cup win teams could compete with each other on a far more level playing field. The bigger story is why Celtic and rangers have achieved so little, relatively speaking, in Europe when they’re practically guaranteed qualification every single season. That 1967 victory stands out mostly because of so much subsequent failure and underachievement. Though being the first British club did make it more noteworthy.

PauloPerth
Celtic’s run in 1966-67:- 1R Zurich (5-0 aggregate) 2R Nantes (6-2 aggregate) QF Vojvodina (2-1 aggregate) SF Dukla Prague (3-1 aggregate) F Internazionale (2-1) There were 4 or 5 decent sides in the tournament. The rest were fucking horseshit. The first round saw aggregate scores of 12-1, 8-4, 10-1 and even Linfield winning 9-4. Linfield went onto make the quarter finals ffs!! Hibs made the semi-finals in 1956, Rangers in 1960 and Dundee in 1963. Under the same format, Dundee United reached the semi finals in 1984, and in the 7 years after winning it, Celtic reached another final and the semi finals twice. In the 15 seasons immediately after Celtic won it, British (predominantly English) sides were in the final 9 times, winning 7. Its a great story; being the first British side to win it, but as a footballing achievement it is overrated to f**k.
