It's a big call from Ange we don't need to understand if one or both of them makes the grade he thinks they will.
If Soro leaves in January with Brown,Christie and Ntcham from the summer I agree we're still one short.

It's obvious that Ange does/did not want Soro, McCarthy, Shaw or Henderson.

Riley McGree was signing from Charlotte in the MLS for £2.5 million after his Birmingham City loan ended. He pulled out after Middlesbrough have offered him more money.

Another Japanese or cheap Irishman to come in instead?

It was a surprise to see Soro has made 17 appearances this season even if most of them have came from the bench,he will be down the pecking order now with Hatate and Ideguchi coming in.
For me McCathy needs to step up his game from now to the end of the season he needs to get more starts and contribute more.
Shaw will be a good fit for Motherwell even thou they play a more direct game than Celtic, For me Henderson will struggle to get into that Hibs midfield Newell is a better player,Campbell and Doyle-Hayes are similar.
Riley McGree Who? Don't do speculation M8.

Are all the new signings in contention for Monday night’s match? I personally wouldn’t be launching them all in, unless they are ripping it up in training, as it’s critical we get 3 points first and foremost in the game v Hibs. We had decent momentum prior to the break. So I’d be putting a couple of them on the bench, assuming they are all fit and registered etc.

Yip…I literally just seen that in the newspaper, there was a game at Lennoxtown yesterday. It’s always good to freshen up the squad, let’s Ange start to build his own team and as I say, it’ll be interesting to see which of the new signings hit the ground running and claim a starting shirt.

Tbh I haven’t seen much of any of them, so I haven’t a clue who will be likely to play on Monday. We just really need the points first and foremost.

I imagine some will feature at some point on Monday however the best news to come out of Lennoxtown is that Jota is back in training also.

This gives us a few more options that we didn’t really have in the first half of the season

Agreed about Jota. He has been totally different class since he arrived. In a mad way, his injury might have helped us get him to sign a permanent contract. I was concerned he was going to attract other teams, due to his amazing form in first few months of the season. I don’t think I have been as excited about a player in probably 20 years!

Was one of the Japanese signings a left back?

That was the position we were clearly lacking any quality, any other position signing was a bonus but a leftback was needed

I actually don’t mind Taylor too much as he is at least a defender who remembers to defend. We’ve been playing attacking wing backs for a few years now, which is fine for 80% of home league games but leaves the flank totally exposed anytime we play in Europe etc.

I think one of the new guys is a defender but tbh I haven’t a clue if left back I’d his position. You have to presume it is as we have cover in all other areas of defence.

I would still say Goal keeper for you guys. Hart has been an improvement yes, but you have had to play both Bain and greek goalie in recent games. With Hart you've just about stopped having a goalie that loses you about 10-12 points a season, but I'm not sure he's actually winning you points that might not otherwise have had. Compare that to the **** where McGregor is clearly their most valuable player,

Hatate can cover a number of positions one of which is left back however isn’t a ‘specialist’ left back as such.

absolutely agree, we need to do whatever we can to get him on a permanent deal. He is stupidly talented and has end product which so many players like Jota dont have.

He's comfortable in any position on the left however it seems he is at his best in an attacking midfield role.

Scales for me seems to be fine at left back, he hasn't really looked out of place or that he has struggled in the games he has played there however we should have just spent the money on Hickey when we had the chance last season

I’m quite interested to see how Taylor will get on under Ange, he was given a 4 year deal recently so I’m guessing he thinks he fits his style. A fair bit of our support seem to have it in for him though.

Hickey is a cracking player although my personal opinion is that he will have developed faster is Italy than he would have if he’d stayed in Scotland.

Agree he would have been a good signing for you though and also one that would have made you a profit in the future.

Leigh Griffiths could be without a club at the end of January after Celtic decided to terminate his contract.

The Hoops striker will remain at Dundee on loan until the end of the transfer window but will then be allowed to leave Parkhead.

Mailsport understands the club have triggered a clause in the one-year deal he signed last summer, which allows Celtic to cut him loose.

Griffiths will stay at Dens Park for now and is included in the Dark Blues’ squad for Tuesday night’s Premiership clash against Livingston.

But the 31-year-old’s future is up in the air after Celtic informed him of their decision last week.

Dundee had initially decided to cut Griffiths ’ loan spell short and send him back to Parkhead.

But after learning that Celtic had activated the termination clause, gaffer James McPake will keep Griffiths until January 31 before deciding whether to offer him a longer-term deal.
