The Celtic All Seasons thread

Dominated possession but couldnt do anything with it, missed a couple of chances but at least made some.  We lost possession too often. Christie still loses the ball consistently.

We just need to get head down and work hard in training to get better every week and learn how to play the ball out of defence in tight games.

Sell Eddy get the Greek in and sell Christie

To be honest i dont think the defense was much of an issue today, ye it sucked to lose a goal to set piece but other than that I thought we were pretty damn solid.

I think we can all agree on however Edouard needs to be sold asap and Christie can go aswell.

Big 2-3 days coming up, squad still badly needs some quality added to it. Still think we need 4-5 players in

The limitations of Angeball are becoming clearer

We can hammer the likes of St Mirren but can't make inroads in the big games

He admitted himself he should’ve played kyogo through the middle, doubt he’ll make mistake again. Forrest was a big miss. Can see a couple out and a couple in. Think he’d like a couple from the J league but says they’re half way through their season and wouldn’t be interested in selling, more likely at xmas.

Off the pitch, see Police Scotland giving a group of RFC fans a escort through town today singing racists songs was pretty depressing
Its kinda wild how this type of behaviour has been normalised in Glasgow for so long now

A central Kyogo could have caused some problems

I Still feel that once he is properly settled, and hopefully puts on a couple of kilos of muscle he will be an excellent player for us

I wouldn’t be too despondent tbh, we lost that game essentially on the toss of a coin. We need to finish our business in the window get Eddie off to recoup the fee and start to settle our squad and establish our best 11 before October as like I said before October will make or break the season.

I was quite impressed with Juranovic also, a few loose passes but he looked really composed despite being out of position and playing his 1st game.

Kyogo is obviously a good player. Pretty unlucky not to score if McCrorie hadn't pulled out a great performance.

I wasn't impressed with Abada and the croatian full back at all though. They were generally woeful.

I think you're building a good team but it will take a fair bit more time than one season to make you challengers.

Bit harsh on Juranovic imo, he isn’t a left back and to be fair to him he was pretty solid. No one got in behind him, he didn’t give the ball away in dangerous positions and Rangers didn’t threaten down our left hand side at all.

As for Abada people forget he is still only 19, massive game for a youngster and it’s unlikely he’s ever played in as hostile an environment like that before. He didn’t have his best game however he was far from being the worst on the park.

Bar McCrorie, Balogoun and Davis I wasn’t particularly impressed by any of the Rangers players either. It wasn’t the best of games if I’m being honest I’m sure there will be better games between the 2 teams to come, at least let’s hope so

I thought Ralston again was our best player. He coped well with Kent

I thought your new player actually played quite well tbh. Kyogo is obviously good, I do think he has his work cut out for him with the physicality but the wee man deffo puts enough effort in so he could be a gem. I think if you get defenders that can play the ball out against a high press then you'll do good but right now especially with Joe Hart that seems an issue. One thing I noticed was second half more often than not we stopped the press with him on the ball and just let him give it away.

They gave the ball away in dangerous positions a stupid amount of times. If he had been on our best form and Kent had made better decisions we would have scored a lot more. I'm not seeing this huge improvement yet.

most of the balls that were gave away in dangerous positions came from McGregor and Christie tbh.

Despite that we still dominated most of the possession forcing Rangers to play on the counter bar the early spell in the second half where we seemed to panic a little.

But again that game hinged on the Edouard miss. Still in disbelief

You passed it around the back aimlessly most of the time. Between the 30th and 80th minute you did very little. I think you've got yourself a good player in Kyogo but ultimately you are still a team in transition and aren't yet on our level.

We are a team in transition however the one reassuring fact i can’t take from today watching Rangers is that the gap is a lot smaller than i anticipated it would be at the start of the season and the job required to close it isn’t as big as we feared

A lot of your fans, on here too, genuinely thought you'd pump us today. I think a lot of you got ahead of yourselves and the reality that you still have a fair bit to go is hitting.

I thought we could win it today and there still isn’t anything that makes me think differently considering we created the better chances. The game was won on very fine margins and if Celtic had won i doubt anyone would have complained or suggested it wouldn’t have been deserved.

On the balance of play we deserved a point at least

Not even anything like the result?

Why should the score make me think differently? Even after Rangers goal the 2 Kyogo chances saved by McCrorie, which were both really good saves btw, suggest we still could easily have come away with something.

Does the score in the 2019 League Cup Final change your opinion on whether or not you deserved to win that game? Again a game decided by fine margins, you score the penalty you likely win

Griffiths would have buried it.
