These clowns needs to accept where Celtic are in world football now.

Indeed. Where they are is in Scotland. Tierney may be missing out on being part of 10, 20, a zillion in a row. Tierney may be going to a Europa League club, but here’s where Tierney is also going - Old Trafford, Anfield, The Etihad, Stamford Bridge, that shiny new Spurs gaff’.... with a massive pay hike and the bright lights of Lahn-dahn town.

Or, he could have stayed here to pump St Johnstone by another seven, rack up in Dingwall for a Monday night game, stroll around the plastic at the Tony Macaroni, or administer perfunctory gubbings to my own team, in the awe-inspiring surroundings of the 8,500 Simple Digital.

Wonder what choice the fannies giving the kid pelters on Twatter would have made?

This.

The laddie was playing football down the park with his mate when the call came in to fly to London. Now I don’t know the boy at all, and I’m not saying for a minute money’s not a factor, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the main one.

This is a guy that all the experts in the game think is miles ahead of any of his Scottish colleagues at Celtic. A guy that wants to get better and better and test himself at a very high level. He wasn’t getting that at Celtic and wasn’t content to not be tested.

Time will tell whether he will be a success. If he can maintain fitness I’m sure he’ll be a big success.

The folk slagging him on Twitter are small minded arseholes and hopefully the lad doesn’t read that crap.

This is coming from the bottom of my heart! I don’t know how to even begin to put the last 15 years of my life into words... what you as fans have given me and my family I cannot repay you in any way possible and for that I am sorry. From the age of 7 I was lucky enough to play for the club I love and will continue to love till the day I die no matter what happens. Every single second of my Celtic career was a dream and I gave my all every single time I stepped onto that pitch, it’s honestly the least I could do for everyone involved at the club. There is to many people to thank individually so I don’t even know where to begin. Every single coach and staff member who has helped me on my way to getting where I am today I am so grateful for all the hours help you put into me making me a better player and a better person. My team mates have been the best I could possibly have asked for what a bunch of legends man who I’ll be supporting untill the end. Where can I start with the fans? I tried my best to represent you every time I went onto that pitch. The relationship we had together and the memories we created and history we made was incredible.. I will cherish every single second of it. I hope we can continue to have a relationship although I understand that will be never for some people which is heartbreaking for me but I understand the emotions surrounding this situation. It has been the hardest day or two of my life and I really appreciate every single message of support from you all. This was not easy in any way shape or form. To end id like to mention the special relationship I had with the ultras who I have grown up with from BHOYS and Green Brigade.. the atmosphere yous create to help the team is massive and it helped me so much over the last few years.. I thank u so much for these times together what we have achieved as a club the last few years isn’t possible without you and all the fans. This is not nearly enough of what I am feeling but I literally cannot put into words with the emotion I’m feeling towards you all but I hope I showed you every game that I was lucky enough to play. God bless🙏🏻💚 @celticfc

Will Celtic sign a new left back, or go with the new 3 million signing Boli? Have watched him twice and thought he is a bit ropey but early days.

I can see us persevering till January with him at least to be honest given the money we have paid. Would rather have Hayes at left back though tbh.

Yip, Hayes looked reasonable there tail end of last season.  You’re probably right then with 2 options no need to buy.

it does weaken Celtic though unless the new guy grows into it.

Losing a talented player weakens every side. The loss of Tierney will weaken Celtic to the extent that they’ll only win the league by 10 to 15 points, and might, just might, slip up in a League Cup semi final or final. Likelihood though, they’ll continue to steamroller diddies by 7-0 on their way to another treble. If, and it’s a big if, the loss of one defender is de-railing their march to the title, with £25 million extra in the bank, they can do whatever the hell they want in January, and sort it out.

A fantastic deal for Celtic and Tierney. Too many times English teams have came away with average, good, excellent  players for less than they are worth.
If I'm correct in thinking the lad is a product of Celtic Youth academy, brilliant, if they produced someone like him every couple of years Celtic would be laughing. Him alone has paid for the Academy and hopefully more goes back into it.

Not sure on the deal, says £25 million, is there any add on or sell on clause. This is a deal the lad could not give up (believe nearly 4 times his weekly wage) and good on him, any dafty that say he should not have went, is well, a dafty

I hope so, Boli will be fine in the SPFL but looks out of his depth in Europe.  Need a  proper LB that can be better defensively to go along with Boli's balls out attacking full back play.  I've heard rumours that the club are interested in Greg Taylor, not sure he's the answer though (and I am a fan of Greg Taylor)

100% agree.  Tierney has been fantastic for Celtic but the time is right for him to make the step up.  I could understand fans being angry if he left for a Crystal Palace or a Watford but the chance to move to a top 6 side is too good an opportunity, especially a team like Arsenal where he is likely to be first choice in his position.

Also yes, he is a product of Celtic's Academy, Mikey Johnston looks to be the next Academy product to become a first team regular while Lennon appears to be willing to give Anthony Ralston a chance

My wife's uncle has a birthday coming up, and pretty much the guy's only interest is Sellick. Have any of you read any decent books about them recently? Feel like the Lisbon lions stuff has been done to death over the years - maybe something about the centenary year?

All suggestions welcome....ya wanks.

Happy Birthday Dear Celtic if you're looking for a Centenary season book.

Over the last couple of months I've picked up both the Sean Fallon and George Connolly autobiographies, a Celtic FC 'On This Day' book along with 'Tears in Argentina' for the old man.  Appears to have enjoyed them.

Sean Fallon, such a great book, written by Stephen Sullivan, lot of research was done for that book. His Uncle Joe used to be the Celtic View Editor and now Stephen is writing for FIFA
