It is laughable , when motherwell got to 2 cup finals in the same season they still only played 9 or 10 games less than the Celtic players.
If teams in the same league as Celtic are only playing 45-47 games and Celtic are playing 59-61 games a season it's only right the players get a better wage.

come on whatever GIF

Are you suggesting the same 11 players play every single game?

I have to ask: is there any piece of information that would lead you to accept the conclusion that Celtic win stuff in Scotland simply by having more money than everyone else, then fail in Europe due to having less money than the top sides there?

Except when they get knocked out by teams like Cluj (with Celtic's wage bill bein £12million more than the entire Romanian league).

That's blatantly pish, since you're on about the year Well made two finals...

17/18 - Most minutes played in all Competitions.

Celtic - Callum McGregor (55 games) - 3,851 minutes

Motherwell - Carl McHugh (47 games) - 3,893 minutes

A full 40 minutes difference in favour of Celtic.

Scott brown played 56 games
Kieran Tierney played 55 games
James Forrest played 58 games
Scott Sinclair played 55 games
Callum McGregor played 55 games

Worth every penny.

Former Celtic player Ian Young has died aged 76. Young played 133 games for Celtic between 1961 & 1968 before spending two years with St. Mirren where he ended his career due to injury at 27.

Former

Celtic defender Ian Young has died aged 76, the Parkhead club have announced.

Young joined the Hoops in 1961 and spent seven years with the club during an era in which Jock Stein's leadership transformed Celtic from the also-rans of Scotland into European champions.

He may very well have been part of the Lisbon Lions side which became the first British side to conquer the continent had it not been for an injury which allowed the likes of Willie O'Neill and then Jim Craig to steal in front for the right-back slot.

In a statement, the Scottish champions said: "Everyone at Celtic Park was saddened to hear that former Celt, Ian Young who played for the club from 1961 until 1968, passed away suddenly after illness at the age of 76.

"The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic Football Club are with the family and friends of Ian Young at this sad time."

Young joined Celtic from Neilston Waverley and scored three goals in 133 Celtic games before returning to Renfrewshire in 1968 to join St Mirren.

He had made his Buddies switch in a bid for more first-team action but sadly suffered a cruciate ligament knee injury soon after and saw his professional career cut short at just 27.

But he will still be remembered fondly at Celtic Park.

He was a regular in the side when Stein arrived and starred as the club ended an eight-year trophy drought with their 1965 Scottish Cup triumph and he was also in the team which overcame Rangers in the League Cup final later that year.

Bitton signed new contract till 2023. Good news, had a decent last yr or so.

Smashing news, he's like the quiet assassin, gets what needs to be done.

Agreed. Not you get players of his professionalism and quality who is content with being a squad player.

Has his critics but for me the big man is as reliable of a player as we have in the squad.
